High level destroyers (ive heard the mount maelstrom event has these drop)
Also Sorrows embrace explorable chests.

i don’t think there are destroyer mobs in malchors leap.
they spawn after you complete an event, as to which event im not sure.
what else besides weapons are these used to craft?

The cores are used to craft a few different Major Runes/Sigils. I usually get 1 or 2 each time I run Sorrow’s Embrace. But I rarely run that dungeon because I’m not a fan of the items you get from its tokens.
