Q:
I know there is an increasing interests in Mesmer illusions (Phantasms) weapon design among players including myself. As a Mesmer, I think this type of weapon design will really compliment her overall appearance really well.
There are 5 types of Phantasms that each possess a different weapon:
1. Phantasmal Berserker: Greatsword – “Vision of the Mists”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Vision_of_the_Mists
2. Phantasmal Swordsman: Sword – “Whisperblade”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Whisperblade
3. Phantasmal Duelist: Pistol – “Ilya”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Ilya_%28weapon%29
4. Phantasmal Warden: Axe – Currently Unknown
and lastly back to my original question about the staff
5. Phantasmal Warlock: Staff – Currently Unknown
*6. Focus – “Spirit Links”
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Spirit_Links
*No phantasm model available in game that posses an offhand but the focus is part of the same Phantasm type weapon design
Basically, there are similarities between the currently known recipe for greatsword, sword, pistol, and focus that requires 3 of the following + one of the two types of tier 6 weapon component to craft at Mystic Forge:
1. Eldritch scroll
2. Mystic Coin
3. Glob of Ectoplasm
4. Tier 6 X weapon component
Given the fact that Phantasms weapon design shares a similar principle in crafting, I tested to see if there is a recipe available for staff using the above requirement 1-3 + both tier 6 Ancient staff components in the Mystic forge. Unfortunately, neither tier 6 Ancient staff components show up as a viable combination with req. 1-3.
It would be really great to hear a feedback from someone in the art design team to comment on this. We’d like to know if the missing Phantasm weapons are not yet discovered or will they be available to players in game later?

I went searching for an “of the Mists” staff for a few weeks ago. The conclusion I reached: it doesn’t exist.
As far as I know, what you see in the screenshots are the “Abyssal Scepter”, the mainhand weapon type shared by both the Phantasmal Warlock and Phantasmal Disenchanter. (Side note: and how many Mesmers really use a scepter? Would have been better to make it a staff in the first place. Or improve the Scepter.)
The recipe for the Abyssal Scepter is current bugged, however, and produces a Mystic Wand. As far as I know it follows the same ingredients pattern as the other Mists weapons.
Spirit Links is a illusionary focus? There is no illusionary focus im not buying.
Spirit Links are chains. Let me go check in game 1 sec brb.
Phantasmal Defender: Shield = Wall of the Mists
Warlock has a scepter not a staff I don’t think there is a Staff.
Downed state 3 spell is a Theif with Dagger illusionary Rogue.

Isn’t the “Anomaly” more of a mesmeresque focus? I believe it is a purple orb that you hold in your off hand. The sigil is the same as the other “Illusionary” weapons.
Oooo Spirit links are indeed a Illusionary Weapon. just checked in game simple design but looks nice and not bulky like other focuses and has that glow effect of illusionary weapons.
Thats why it costs 60g I was wondering that. I stand corrected. They really need to get that preview feature for the TP going. I had no idea.
That means there is a possibility of the Staff out there.
Just looked at spirit links and then anomaly hmmm Anomaly is very nice. Would attract alot of attention.
