For instance, I have the corrupted shard and want to use it’s appearance on my Knight’s Pearl Carver stats… will the glow disappear and look only like a normal corrupted shard?

No. Should look like the Corrupted shard when you choose the skin. The only thing that changes is the stats.
If it does stop try to log out and back in,restart the client, and/or submit a ticket. Hope this helps.

EDIT: Reworded my sentence a bit.

I transmuted my berserker short-bow, daggers and pistols to the corrupted skin with no issues.
