I see a lot of mention of drop rates being lower recently then they had been. Both in terms of lodestones and rare items in general. I wonder if adding the wintersday gifts to the drop tables somehow caused this issue we are experiencing. Or if there are just a lot of people facing a period of bad draws from the RNG so that it feels like things are worse off.

Here is an example of one outing I had since the wintersday patch. I spent 1.5hrs farming sparks with 150 MF. I am fine not getting a single lodestone as that happens. But the only rare drop I got the entire time was a Platinum Doubloon. In the past weeks if I did this I would get 3-6 rare drops between items and lodestones. I know this is not any sort of evidence, only a personal experience.

I ran 4 levels of fractals and a path of AC and the only rares I got were a ring and a back piece. I usually get at least a single rare per fractal run. I’d say drop rates were off, but I think it was just a bad week for my friendship with RNG as everyone else in my group got multiple rares, exotics, and even charged lodestones.

DR or drop rates seem to be messed up since the 15th November patch. You can join us here and contribute more details of your experience.

The only problem with drop rates are the developers making this game a farmfest/grindhouse. Everything in this game can be made bind to account, including gold, solves all problems, this should include any exploit possibilities using guild banks to try and “transfer” money to anyone else. There are plenty of other items that can be made to trade/sell on the TP. No imagination, even less control.

There is no worse feeling than that during an argument, you realize you are wrong.
