So ever since the new patch I’ve run the Fire Elemental, Jormag, Shatterer, Tequatl and the Shadow Behemoth every day and have gotten a multitude of rares from the chest.

After salvaging 30 rares from these chests I have received no ectoplasm at all from these rares.

I crafted 10 rares, bought another 7 rares from COF and bought another 10 rares from the TP and salvaged them and received 43 ectoplasm from them.

I was wondering if anyone else was noticing not getting ectoplasm from the rares from the chests specifically? Or is this some seriously strange RNG?

I have alot of globs from rares from these events. Im guessing standard RNG.

Sounds like you just had a streak of bad luck.

As others have said, I’m getting globs from event rares, I think the amazing lick is that y you got so many from your 27 other rares.

This guy in my guild has been getting Rare dyes none stop it’s all about luck i’m guessing idk heh.

RNG is RNG. I got about 80 ectos since patch and I don’t even do all dragons/temples possible. Heck, I got more Exos since patch than since day 1 of the game too.

one day, salvaged 2 rares, no ectos. next day salvaged 2 rares, 1 exotic, got 8 ectos (5 from exotic).

assume it’s RNG as well. keep at it! and you’ll get ’em soon enough.

Pure RNG, I avg 20 rares a night doing Metas, last night 38 globs, tonight 18. Avg 22 Globs/night this week.

I got 3 rares from the Frozen Maw event chest, ended up with 4 Ecto’s (2,1,1) using a Masters Salvage Kit.

I use Black Lion Salvage kits (still have an abundance of them), and I get at least one ecto about 75% of the time on rares. Sometimes I get two or three, but most common is one.

I do this as well. The BL kits give a nice return – I almost always get at least 1 ecto and often get 3.

2) What kind of salvage kit are you using? RNG is RNG, I use the mystic salvage kit for good odds and low cost per use relatively speaking.

i do about 20 chest events/night and my returns is about 70% with master salvage kit
there is 1 time i got no ectos from salvage 8 rares. but alot of times i got almost 90% ratio.

I’m level 80, so all level 80 rares, and I use Mystic Salvage kits and Black Lion kits.

I only found the odd thing to be no ectos from the rares from the events, but rares from everything else… Struck me as odd.

I used to just sell the rares rather then salvage them because in the end i was coming out even. But now the selling price of rares is lower, so i may start salving again as long as the ectos price doesn’t drop as much as the rares price has.

Im getting 3 ectos a lot more often then I was gettint before. Rng is to blame.

Yep, I’ve got quite a few ectos from the many rares.

I’ve had 2 from every event rare I’ve salvaged, don’t know if using Black Lion Salvage kits increases this chance though as that’s what I use while I have them.

Sounds like luck. Even using the Black Lion Salvage kits, I get between 0 and 3 on rares from event chests.

yea, happened to me too, i used BLSK and salvaged 3-4 rares from dragons, could not get any ecto
i mean, before patch, i could always get ectos from these rares, and they were of lev > 68

I switched to BLSK to get my ecto’s because using master’s salvage kit to get back logs and ore was getting ridiculous, I probably lost 15~25 opportunities on turning rares into ectoplasm globs. I have no idea if the randomness of getting ectos was adjusted since patch, or bad luck decided to wait until I had enough rares stored to screw my day.

I’m running out of BLSKs now from all the new rares from events. Anyone know if Mystic kits are better for getting ectos than Masters? I know what the tooltip says, but from what I’ve been reading, that doesn’t seem to be the number used for ectos. Wondering if anyone else can share their experiences.

From my personal experiences, Its about the same. I try to use BLSKs because I get better returns, while I can get a cold streak with a mystic kit. Like last night, I salvaged 9 rares and only got 3 ectos with Mystic.
