The rare jewelry recipes are not discoverable, but are bought from the jeweling trainer for karma.

for most professions, when you’re done with the “discovery” phase of insignias, etc.. you have to purchase the recipes for rares and exotics. this i believe is also required to reach lvl 400 in most crafts.

i want to say cooking is different? i haven’t done that one yet, but the same was required for armorsmith, jewel and wep smith.
