Estimated value of legendary weapon
So my Twilight consists of:
1)Basic exotic weapon, which is Dusk of Rage. Pretty simple, available for 110g right now.
Dusk of Rage = 110g
2)Base gift =Gift of Metal + Gift of Darkness + 100 x Icy Runestones + Superior Sigil of Blood
Gift of metal and gift of Darkness.
This one is a little bit harder to calculate. 10 gold per recipe equals 20g.
Gift Of metal = 250x(platinum ingot + mithril ingot + darksteel ingot + orichalcum ingot)
platinum ingot = 26c
mithril ingot = 44c
darksteel ingot = 82c
orichalcum ingot = 7s 21c
So the price for 4 ingots is 26+44+82+721 = 8s 73c
250x (8.73s) = 21g 82s 50c
Gift of Metal = 21g 82s 50c
Gift of Darkness = 250 orichalcum ingots + 250 Cured Hardened leather squares + 100 onyx lodestones + gift of ascalon
Orichalcum ingot = 7s 21c
Cured Hardened Leather Square = 91c
Onyx lodestone. This is where things become more complicated, because there are no too much of them at the market. So i just put in TP number 100, and it says that it will costs me about 90g
Gift of Ascalon = 500 ascalonian tears (yeah, you can’t buy everything)
250x (7.21 + 0.91) = 20g 30s
20.3g + 90g = 110.3g
Gift of Darkness = 110.3g + 500 ascalonian tears
100 Icy Runestones = 100g
Superior sigil of blood = 41s
Base gift = Gift of Metal + Gift of Darkness + 100 Icy Runestones + Sigil of Blood = 21.825 + 110.3 + 100 + 0.41 + 500 ascalonian tears (tokens) = 232g 53s 50c + 500 ascalonian tokens

3)Gift of Mastery = Bloodstone Shard + 250x Obsidian Shard + Gift of Exploration + Gift of Battle
Bloodstone Shard = 200 skill points
250x Obsidian Shard = 2100 karma x 250 = 525 000 karma
Gift of Exploration obtained by reaching 100% World Completion
Gift of the Battle = 500 badges of honor
4)Gift of fortune = 77x Mystic Clover + 250x Glob of Ectoplasm + Gift of Magic + Gift of Might
Mystic clovers are kinda random items so the recipe is
10 Obsidian Shards + 10 Mystic Coins + 10 Ectos + 10 Crystals = 10 mystic clovers or 20-50 T6 mats. I don’t know how often we will get them , but people says its really rare. Lets just calculate the value of 77 clovers assuming we hit it 100% of time
1 obsidian shard = 2100 karma
1 Mystic coin = 1s 84 c
1 Ecto = 21s 10c
1 crystal = 0.6 skill point
77 mystic clovers = 77x 2100 karma + 77x (21.1 + 1.84) + 77x 0.6 sp = 161700 karma + 17.67g + 46.2 skill points
250 globs of ectoplasm = 250x 21s10c = 52.75g
Gift of Magic: 250x Vicious Fang + 250x Armored Scale + 250x Vicious Claw+ 250x Ancient Bone
250x Vicious Fang = 2.69g
250x Armored Scale = 33.2g
250x Vicious Claw = 3.62g
250x Ancient Bone = 72s
Gift of Magic = 2.69 + 33.2 + 3.62 + 0.72 = 40.23g
Gift of Might:250x Vial of Powerful Blood + 250x Powerful Venom Sac + 250x Elaborate Totem + 250x Pile of Crystalline Dust
250x Vial of Powerful Blood = 47.38g
250x Powerful Venom Sac = 2.57g
250x Elaborate Totem = 23.8g
250x Pile of Crystalline Dust = 3.1g
Gift of Might = 47.38 + 2.57 + 23.8 + 3.1 = 76.85g
Gift of fortune = 77x Mystic Clover + 250x Glob of Ectoplasm + Gift of Magic + Gift of Might = (161700 karma + 17.67g + 46.2 skill points) x Koef + 52.75g + 40.23g + 76.85g = 169.83g + (17.67g + 161700 karma +46.2) x Koef
Koef here describes what is the odds of mstilc clovers. I would like any help with it, I dont have experience in experimenting with the materials, so I cannot estimate it.
So what do we got:
Twilight = Basic exotic weapon + Base gift + Gift of Mastery + Gift of Fortune = 110g + 232g 53s 50c + 500 ascalonian tokens + 200 skill points + 525 000 karma + 100% World Completion + 500 badges of honor + 169.83g + (17.67g + 161700 karma +46.2) x koef = 512.365g + 500 ascalonian tokens + 200 skill points + 525000 karma + 100% world completion + 500 badges of honor + (17.67g + 161700 karma +46.2) x Koef
The only undefined value in my formula is koef, which is the odds of getting 10 mystic clovers by putting 10 Obsidian Shards + 10 Mystic Coins + 10 Ectos + 10 Crystals in a mystic forge. For example, if we get 10 mystic clovers 20% of the time, then koef = 1/20% = 1/0.2 = 5.
I would appreciate any help with defining this koefficient.
And please let me know if you find any mistakes in my calculations.
Final formula
Twilight = 512.365g + 500 ascalonian tokens + 200 skill points + 525000 karma + 100% world completion + 500 badges of honor + (17.67g + 161700 karma +46.2 skill points) x Koef

Daunting….
Someday.
Ive been told that you have a 10% chance to get 10 clovers with that recipe. Which means you need 800 of each of the materials used for the recipe if you are statistically average.
so,
800 obsidian shard = 1680000 karma
1 Mystic coin = 14g 72s
1 Ecto = 168g 80s
1 crystal = 480 skill points

That was probably just from someone who got unlucky with the 10x recipe. I’ve heard from people who got 4/10 successes with clovers. Personally I suspect the chances are somewhere around 30%, since that means around 250 attempts on average.
WOW… O.O
that’s what I call legendary
You need to factor in how much gold you get for doing world completion and subtract that from your ‘final’. Additionally you should also factor in the rewards for completing the Dungeons which also should put a minor dent into it.
Further, all that karma is earned by doing events. You should find how much karma is earned on average per run, divide the total amount of karma per run (probably with a karma booster running) and then multiply that by the amount of silver you get for doing those events and subtract that from the total as well.
You’re going to be making a fair amount of coin in the process of farming up all that karma & tokens.
Not to be a skeptic, but with all that I would be a little afraid of an expansion wiping it out in one fell swoop. Or is 80 the permanent top and everything else will be payed for in SP? heh.
Maybe there will be a way to upgrade legendaries to new max stats if expansions raise the lvl cap. I think it would be a good idea at least.

There already is. Transmutation stones.

But then it would loose its legendary status. Transmuted looks ugly :p
I wouldn’t expect a level cap change on expansion(s)… at least not the first one a few years from now… (based upon past design and stated goals as to why 80 is the cap now)
No way to say for certain, but Guild Wars 1 kept the initial level 20 cap through 3 expansions and 7 years. That might give some idea as to their design philosophy. GW 2 seems to use the same skill point after level cap progression mechanism.
But then it would loose its legendary status. Transmuted looks ugly :p
Transmutation stones allow you to copy the appearance of one item and the stats of another. How would it look any different?

he’s referring to the tooltip not the item skin.
Instead of getting a new exotic and transmute it unto the Legendary, he is thinking of taking the Legendary sword and transmute it unto a new exotic.
