Explain crafting briefly for me.
Well at the low levels you really can’t craft stuff that is going to be better than your current gear, when they say it will be useful items. Primarily you’ll be able to replace your gear as you level up.
Sadly enough you will have to make a lot of items that are useless for you, however if you pick the right items you can sell them for a profit on the TP.
Have you tried experimenting yet with the crafting signias certain will give you the stats you want although at lower levels of crafting you might only be able to pick one or two stats.
Hopefully I helped, if not let me know what else you need help with.

Can you tell me about inscriptions? I have been able to craft them for along time now but I can’t do anything with them at all it seems! why let me craft them when they have literally no use what so ever… Also what level of crafting do I need to start getting semi decent stuff to craft for myself?
When you read the wiki, did you notice the footnote that links this statement to a post from 2011? In short you can discover recipes that you might find useful, which give you more “crafting experience” as a bonus instead of crafting the same sword 20 times.
That is really all. I personally fell behind the curve and while I think I did craft some things for alts it really is not that necessary for the leveling process itself.
You would want to be more around lvl 75 artificing for your character level in order to craft soft inscriptions.

Not sure if that is the answer you were looking for. I guess if you don’t enjoy crafting by itself you should be able to check the TP – I personally would advise against it – again simply because I did not find it necessary. Only do so if you really notice you die a lot or it takes you ages to kill something etc.

“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
crafting concept 101:
To craft a magical weapon (or anything) you need to craft the item and add the magical inscription.
to craf the item you need parts (2 in this game). For example, for a sword you need the blade and the hilt. Its very intuitive. Then you add the magical inscription which you will have many to choose depending on the stats you’d like to provide to your soon to be magical sword.
If you don’t have the recipe for the final item discovered yet you just go to discover tab and add the 3 items. You will get it with the first few crafts you make.
Voila! you made a magical sword.
Important notes:
a) as you progress in your crafting skills your higher crafted items will increase it level by 5 each tier. At 0 you craft lvl 5, then items lvl 10, then 15, then 20… every now and then you will be able to craft green (better) items.
b) never refine everything you can. You might need the raw material for other uses so go easy while refining unless you are sure what you are doing (not rocket science but it happen to us all to, for example, melt all the ore into ingots and then needed it for another thing as ore).

You can use them. Craft two weapon parts (e.g. sword hilt + sword whatever the other one is), then go to the Discovery tab and combine the weapon parts with the inscription, and you get a weapon.
You will have to make a lot of useless stuff (at a $ loss vs the mats most of the time). You’ll get some stuff you’ll be able to use and XP as well. Later on, when you’ve maxed it, you can use it to make a profit. Here are some good websites to help you do this.

I just read the wiki page for the crafting and it said that if I chose to craft items, they would be useful and wouldn’t require me to make many useless items.
I was doing dungeon with my friend, and when he dies I run over and rez him for 1 second and run away eventhough I dont’ really want to rez him since it is better if I focus on fighting instead of rezing.
But I still do it anyway. It’s called being “politically polite”.
What the wiki really want to say is you’ll craft a bunch of useless item that you won’t use but for political reason they have to reword it.
It’s very difficult to run ONE character and do what the OP wants (craft useful, level appropriate gear). You either need to invest some significant gold (for your level) and push your crafting up to meet your character level equipment requirements, or you need several characters (or friends / guildies) to obtain the materials needed to pump up your crafting level.
I was able to do this rather successfully by leveling up 6 characters at roughly the same time (and having each one take 2 crafts). Not all of them adventured a lot and gathered from EVERY node found. Progression was slow, (I only reached LVL 80 on any one of them back in July), but I wasn’t in a rush to hit 80 either.

Keep in mind that while the materials to craft gear can only be found in regions with the same level as that gear, you can gain character levels anywhere. If you start off by exploring all of the level 1-15 zones and end up at like level 40, don’t expect your crafted gear to keep up.
