So, I have the Sclerite Karka Shell Backpiece. While I like the looks, it’s not the stats I want. I would transmute it, but i’m not sure I should, because I don’t know if I’ll still be able to upgrade it to ascended gear. Should I just get my ascended backpiece and skin the sclerite onto that? I want a P/T/V Ascended Backpiece with the Sclerite skin.

Get yourself a P/T/V Ascended backpack (infused, if you want to do fractals) and then transmute it. Be careful if it’s not infused because you can still put it into the mystic forge for the infusion recipe, but it will revert back.
