Gathering linen
If you really wanted to, you could create another character, level them until you started finding linen again, then get on your current character and farm that location.
Note however that diminishing returns is implemented into everything in GW2

Really? So the more I loot something the less likely I’ll be to get it again? That obviously can’t be long term though right? I watched a youtube video of a guy farming and he said the longer a mob is alive the higher percent chance it has for a drop. Was he essentially saying the same thing, that drop rates have diminishing returns on them?
Nevertheless, I finally got SOME scraps last night, although it was like 20, from the some of the flame legion charr in the 50-60 zone i think it was. Not a great farming place, especially since half the waypoints are bugged and stuck on contested, but i at last gone some linen.
ANet has an anti-farming policy which means the more you kill of a certain mob, the less drops you will get from it. So if you just kill Jotun for 2 hours, you will get more drops in the first 30 minutes than you would in the last 30 minutes.
The thing about mobs giving more xp the longer they have been alive is different. I think this encourages people to go out and farm (for XP) on other mobs. Some games have a very typical farming location where everybody goes to get drops and good xp. I think Anet’s intent is to make everything viable to be farmed, but not for too long.
