I am currently working towards getting my gift of metal to craft incinerator and have a slight dilemna. I have been contemplating just how to acquire the 500 orichalcum ore required (as well as the lodestones). I am not a fan of running CoF path 1 a gagillion times so that leaves me with doing other dungeons (CoE, SE, TA, AC etc.) or mining the ores and farming the lodestones. For each, which would be the favorable option: doing dungeons for cash and then buying off the TP or farming? Any advice would be greatly appreciated

If you have an abundabce of mithril ingots you can also upgrade them to ori ingots.

Otherwise i wouod stick to minimg the ori, and tradin wih guildies for lodestones.

500 ori ore is … 20G.
That’s one of the cheapest materials? Maybe not for the gift in particular, but compared to molten lodestones around 50G and destroyer around 100G?

I have been using “orrmaps.com” to farm up the high end mats. Its been pretty accurate.
Using the map, I plan out a route, use as much speed boost possible running from node to node and knock out a zone in maybe 10min tops, less if I use WP’s, more if I walk & hit events on the way to nodes. Overall, its been good & reliable.
Plus its nice to be in a zone & a temple goes off & its a free daily chest

Many thanks for the responses ^^ I sort of have a better idea of how to go about getting the mats now

And Rouven, apologies if I made it sound like the orichalcum was the expensive part ^^ I was just considering the best way to go about getting it and yes, the lodestone acquisition will be quite horrendous :p Thank you for the response though

No apologies necessary, just tried to understand where you are coming from. I personally like to “farm” everything myself – I don’t think that is truly possible with the lodestones and at one point I will have to decide what to do there myself. But I’m not really starting until I have the precursor.
If you have no other use for the karma you can get the orrian jeweler boxes and you might get a couple lodestones there, but not many. If you don’t need your laurels I think the best option is still to get unidentified dyes and sell them on the TP in order to buy the lodestones. That’s all I can think off.

Yeah, what Hebee said. If you have multiple 80’s use orrmaps and make the run on each character. Depending on how many you have you can get almost a stack (250) of ori each day along with omnomberries and ancient wood.

How many 80s do you use to get a stack? I have 6 and didn’t even get close… although, I never went to frostgorge or southsun much after the rich node was removed.

You know the item that occasionally drops called Valuable Metal Scrap?
It is about 1 silver on the TP and if you salvage it with a master salvage kit you have roughly a 75% chance of getting 1-4 mithril ore, and a 25% chance of getting orichalcum ore.

Just a suggestion, as it probably is the cheapermethod in the long run if you’re lucky.
