Guild Wars 2

I am fairly new to the Guild wars 2 community having played a good 2 weeks now and I have accumulated around 30 gold pieces but I have a few questions I hope can be answered.

1.With this 30 gold I currently have how far do you think I could level weaponsmithing, and how much would I need to get to level 400?

2.Is Weaponsmithing worth it in the end game?

3.Is it more efficient for me to make my own materials such as axe heads from materials I bought or should I just buy the axe heads or other items straight off the Black Lion board?

1. http://www.gw2crafts.net/weaponcraft.html says it’s currently around 22 gold to level Weaponsmith to 400.
2. Not sure. I like having it, both for the crafted back item skins and the craft-only stat combinations (like Celestial). And also the achievement points/completion. YMMV.
3. That varies but the crafting guides take that into account. Sites like gw2spidy.com will also break this down for you.

3. It really depends on each item but in general it propably is cheaper to put in a buy order for the axe head instead of crafting it yourself but its more expensive to buy the axe head directly.

2) depends how you define ‘worth’. it’s certainly good to have. I make a profit by making stuff with it every now and then. it’s not required unless you want those ascended weapons. I would recommend it just because it will allow you to do more things, but it depends on what you want to be able to do in the game.

3) it’s almost always cheaper to buy-order the crafting components. but it’s really slow and unreliable for those to actually be filled. if you buy them from sell listing, it’s almost always cheaper to make it yourself. So if you’re patient and plan ahead, buy the components, otherwise it’s not much more expensive to make them. And it definitely depends on the specific item. Some of items are dirt cheap on the TP, and which those are change quite a bit.
