Has levels per craft gone back to 10?
I’m pretty sure leveling 0-400 in a craft only yielded 7 levels after they changed it (think it was when they first added lvl 500s). But my friend has gotten lvl 30 through 3 crafts. Did they switch it back?
No.

No.
So, 100% you can say 0-400 yields 7 levels? Is there anything that can change that?
They likely did not start at a low level or used tomes.

They definitely used no tomes (they’re new, don’t have any). But he said he got 3 levels from doing his story, I guess this number must be more than he realises. Thanks for the info!
Lvl 1-15 is different exp values. You can go from lvl 2 to 14 with 1 prof. Then another 14 for two more profs. Maybe he gained a few more levels beyond 400 for the remaining two levels.

It goes by percentages of your crafting level, not a fixed amount.
Cooking and Jewelry still give 10 lvls from 0 to 400. The rest will give you 7 levels from 0 to 400 and 3 levels from 400 to 500.
And yes, it goes by precentage.

Don’t recall this ever being something they would consider reverting nor any Anet employee ever implying they would.
You do realize this has nothing to do with how many levels you can gain by crafting and just kind of worked out this way when they introduced 500 crafting, right?

I understand the reason now. It has been explained about the advanced leveling from 1-15.
