How much gold for lvl80
Probably roughly around 30-40 ? Just a guess though..
I gained about 23 levels with 2 crafts. It really depends which crafts you pick. Some professions are cheap to level, while others (ie. weaponsmithing) are not. As I think you’ll need 7 professions to get to lvl 80, I guess 30 to 35 gold sounds about right. If you decide to do it, and if want to keep the cost down, skip weaponsmithing. Personally, I’d do six crafts, and do the rest on the personal story line. The quests give a ton of XP, are a lot of fun to do, and give you a good feel of your character before you go out into the big bad world.

I’m doing the same thing, I’ve leveled Cooking, Jewlery, Leatherworkong, and some of Huntsman. Each will take you 4-5g, so 35-40g in total sounds about right. Made 39 levels in 3 days.

Took me around nine gold today to level artificing from 106-326.
I’ve done 10 – 80 before on less than 50 gold.
However, on a completely different note – I’d recommend NOT leveling that way – you don’t learn the profession near well enough to succeed as a level 80 if you level by crafting alone.
I learned that the hard way.

Last time I did artificing it was like a gold for 1-400.
artificing 1-400 was less than 1g for me after I sold all my tonics/tuning crystals
1-80 takes about 35-40 gold depending on mats.
chef/artificer/jeweler all cost roughly 1-2gold and you can make most of your money back.
the other five crafts take about 5 gold (with all mats) or 7-8 gold (without mats).
if you are buying the mats in masse remember to place “custom orders”.
I’ve leveled my thief 1-80 in a day.
good luck

I usually just level 1-16 on my own, craft 16-36, then switch to my alt for the last boss in AC on every path from 36-60, and then I craft from 60-80.
I always level Chef and Artifice on every alt, as they are by far the cheapest to level. Which crafting disciplines I level from 16-36, and from 60-80, depend on what crafting disciplines I want that alt to end up with at 80. For example, on my Mesmer I wanted her to be Artificer/Tailor at 80, so from 16-36 I leveled Chef and Jeweler, and saved Artificer and Tailoring for 60-80.
Also, as Victor said, you’ll save a lot of gold if you figure out what materials you’re going to need and buy them ahead of time by placing orders on the Trading Post.
P.S. There a few guides I typically follow when leveling crafting on my alts. Three of them can be found on guildwars2crafting.net (Artificer, Chef, and Jeweler). The other five are on gw2wiz.com (Tailor, Huntsman, Leatherworker, Armorsmith, and Weaponsmith).
Anyway, good luck, and happy crafting!
if you do ac exp runs, 1 set of all paths will earn you enough gold to lvl a craft completely(maybe not weapon/armor/jeweler, but very close to covering all the costs) not to mention you’ll get 2+ lvls just completing the dungeon

Anddd… If you manage to find an exotic that sells for at least 2g and up… You pretty much earned another 400 crafting profession

your doing it wrong then… when i level 1 – 400 in that it takes me about 90 silver, with 5g spending cash which i get back

if you would rather spend 15g instead of one that is up to you, im not gonna stop you, just saying if your trying to level and someone asks for a $ amount then you shouldn’t give them the inflated fun way you should give them the fast cheap way
I personally I’ll do it the cheap and fast way that way I will always be able to go back and craft any skin I want later for any reason.

use a crafting booster if ya got one. (friendly reminder)
Personal Story = lots of Exp too. I leveled an alt from 0 to 48 recently. Did Cooking 1-400 with a booster and personal story up to the point of picking a Pact faction. Running around getting Waypoints and Skill points also for Experience. (used a speed booster) Dangerous but lots of Exp from heading into maps I was not leveled up to do yet. the run to Teq. dragon waypoint was tense and fun, trying to not get destroyed by mean enemies. Now I can go to Dragons for Exp when the time is right (dragon timer site, for the win), & potentially get better gear/weapons too.
