I have been trying to do this seemingly simple event of cutting a tree for a while. when I try to put the two only axes in the game in the logging box it doesn’t let me and rejects it .
I have tried the war axe thing and the little off hand one (mighty bronze axe and axe)
I am a charr ranger please help me I have looked everywhere!

you’re trying to use weapons in the logging box, you need to use a copper logging axe

You can buy these from any merchant vendor. They also sell mining pic ffor mining ore

The gathering tools also need to be area appropriate. That is, copper for the 1 to 15 area. Iron for the 15 to 25 area, and so on. Most merchants sell them and a fair number of heart NPCs will sell one type, like axes, for karma which will save you money.
