I read I should not use craft booster and I should go to overflow like lion’s arch if I want max xp via crafting.

Can anyone confirm?

Crafting boosters don’t change the experience you gain, only the crafting experience you gain. Using one makes it cheaper to get the same amount of experience is all. You should also absolutely be in your home world to get the WvW bonus to crafting critical chance. No matter what you do, 0-400 gives you 1/8 of the experience to level 80, but how fast you get to 400 from 0 is what the crafting booster and WvW bonus affect.

Don’t know why you would go to overflow to maximize xp via crafting.

A crafting booster will help in 2 ways:
1) Reduce the amount of mats required to max a craft
2) Reduce the time it takes to max a craft.

The way a crafting booster works is by granting you more crafting xp per item created / discovered…. which levels your crafting faster, and with fewer items made / discovered.

The last time I used a booster (I had one lying around from a daily or a map completion) I used it to power through the end of tailor…. when I finished tailor, I had 35 minutes of boost left…. and I figured ’don’t waste it’ so I went to pick up Jewel Crafter and made it from Zero to 321 in 30 minutes

Both wrong. Essentially someone is telling you to reduce your chance to critical while crafting to 0. When in reality, your critical rate has nothing to do with the total experience you will get and instead will only reduce the number of items you need to craft to reach 400.

Crafting boosters give you a +50%, additive with wvw bonus, chance to critical while doing a craft. Max bonus of 70%. What a critical does while crafting is give you 50% bonus crafting experience that is additive with other crafting bonuses(discovery, masterwork and rare crafts). That page will explain how crafting xp is determined per item.

However the amount of character experience you get from crafting is determined by your progress through the crafting levels based on the following values;
1-100 1% of current level per crafting level
101-200 2% of current level per crafting level
201-300 3% of current level per crafting level
301-400 4% of current level per crafting level

And these values scale to partial levels, like lvl 1, half full bar is 1.5% of a level. Going 0-400 will give you 10 levels from whatever level you started at, every time.

There is 1 exception in that xp rewards from 1-15 are larger than the actual xp needed for those levels. ( source ) so you will get about 13 levels while crafting.

But with 2 professions and some WvW help you should go up about 22-23 lvls.
So if you use your crafting well you can be lvl 80 when you should be about lvl 65 without it. At lest it was so for my friend.
I have lvl 120 on both my professions on my newest character.
He got lvl 38 on 4-5 days now.
There’s alot of ways to lvl up fast but doing dalies and crafting is the best way. And events when ever you hit on one in your advatures.
