I just reached lvl 80 a day or so ago and have been gathering materials for my legendary since I reached 25, so my question is what exactly is it that makes the weapons. I have heard rumors and am looking to know. Now do I need 4 exotics in the mystic forge to make the dusk greatsword? I just looking to get the story straight it all, and any advise would be very helpful.

4 level 75+ rare greatsowrds in the forge has a *low chance

4 level 80 exotic greatswords in the forge has the highest chance

Buying it off the trading post has a 100% chance.

Some high end mobs can drop them (places like cursed shore) and there are rumors that it can be found in event chests like the temple of grenth of the claw of J events.

It should be noted that the chance of getting it even from 4x 80 exotic greatswords, which is your best chance using the mystic forge, is still very, very small.

One of the devs said here on the forums that they do not drop from any foes.

The guide you gave link to is wrong when it comes to getting precursor.

I want to say thank you everyone for all the information given to settle the questions I had. I did try to find some info on it thru the net but I was mislead to what to look for, so thank you again. I will have to say that GW’s peeps are the best when it comes to getting information on anything you are all awesome.
