I must just be THAT unlucky...Mystic Forge
The chance is low, expect to spend 350g or more for a precursor from the MF.
That’s why they’re worth over 300g.

There are quite a few exotics that have decent sigils that go for more than the exotics themselves, so you could possibly have more than that, and did you craft all those ourself or just buy them off the TC? Much cheaper to craft and if you don’t have weaponsmithing you could easily have maxed it.
Using math it costs roughly 12 to 13 silver to craft a rare.
At 12 silver a pop you would spend 96g crafting 800 swords.
I am sure you didn’t actually have 800 at the start, more like 5 to 600, 800 after forge rares, which means you could have spent as low as 60 gold crafting them all.
Next time craft your own instead of buying already made in bulk.
You can expect to spend even more than that. Who knows? You might have to spend double that amount. It’s RNG.
Imagine you had a 50% chance to gain a precursor. On average you should get one after only 2 attempts. But with just a little bit of bad luck it could easily take you six tries to get your first one. That means your investment was 3x bigger than average.
Same thing can happen with really low RNG. You might spend the average which is estimated at 300g OR you could get a bit unlucky and have to spend 3x that amount which is already 900 gold. So good luck.

Or you could get it on your first try and net a profit of close to 300g.
Your post is pointless.

For every player who nets a profit of 300g in 5mins, there are usually over 1000 players who lose 300g+ for nothing. Explain that please, and don’t give me that “legendaries are meant for only a few” crap, because then obviously the players who luck out on legendaries are not the least bit deserving of them. Where is the skill, the mastery of the game that anet’s legendary trailer talks about? NOWHERE.
Don’t like it? Go design our own game, or you can simply go after another skin. Where did ANet say you have to acquire a legendary?
I actually prefer a diff skin for my pistol, the purple flame thingy. The only reason im pretending to try out for a legendary is all thr cool kids are doing it now. Tbh the mats required for that are also quite hard but not legendary level :p

When they put achievements in the game and a medal on the character select screen for it.

That’s why you should’ve learned how to exploit the great MF like others did when gold skull was still viable. :o

I suppose this is the 3rd iteration of people whining about the Godskull exploits. The iteration that apparently can’t even remember the proper name of the item anymore because it was so far back in time.

Not really caring about whether its god skull or gold skull but more about how people exploited it and now bashing poeple who find it too difficult to get the precursors with legitimate ways

Too bad I’ve already publicly posted how I made my money, selling tens of thousands of Carrion Krait Slayers to people too lazy to level Weaponsmithing + crafting world’s first Triforge Pendant and investing in the mats before releasing the pictures on official forums.
Among investing and crafting in many other items.
But yeah, keep lumping everyone who is successful at making money in the game as an exploiter: I’m sure it’ll somehow improve your own abilities.

Yep dude, i also happened to have a guildie who made a precursor on 2nd try dude. Everyone can make stories, how did you come up with the gold to make the triforce in the first place :o, obviously not godskull. No point you being here to discourage people from trying to get their precursors in their own way. Your posts in regard to this situation is not constructive.

I went from 30g to 180g in one day crafting CKS when profit margins were 3.5s/sword and I had over 90% market share of all swords sold for about a week. I crafted the Triforge after I bought all the mats for my legendary and realized I still had about 100g left over.

Triforge cost something like 45g to craft at the time I made it because Saph and Emerald orbs were valued so low. Saph orbs alone quadrupled in price overnight after posting that recipe.
Why are you so poor? Surely it’s not because you spend much of your time making unsubstantiated claims about people exploiting.

and of course that link brought me to another pointless place and so are all other pointless statements you’ve made.

Well, when you’re out of money trying to get your shield precursor, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

Exactly. If you find a recipe no one else has discovered yet, and it’s for something awesome, then buy up all the mats you can that are needed to craft it. Then tell everyone about it and watch the demand for that item go up. The price for ruby orbs was hovering around 12s before the Triforge was posted, after it shot up to 16s. I made quite a bit of gold during that time, would have been more had I known the prices were going to go up before hand and got my hands on the mats.
Np, I do my best to inform people and be sympathetic towards the same people. Unlike ppl who are out there to show off their e-pen ^^

Actually my point is even stronger with your statement. The difference in cost between two players trying to obtain a legendary can LITERALLY be between 1 gold or 1000 gold. That is not a well working system.
GG for all the money you made, It’s perfectly fine, I don’t consider you an exploiter in any way. But if you’re telling me that being a really good TP player is a requirement to obtain a precursor than you can just GTFO.
There needs to be a more stable option of obtaining a precursor for slower paced players period.
If there are 20 items and a 15% chance to get one of them that means there is a .75% chance to get the precursor. I think there is closer to 30 exotics so, assuming a 15% chance, the chance to get a precursor is closer to .5% chance.
1 item = 15% odds
2 items = 7.5% odds
3 items = 5% odds
20 items = .75% odds
30 items = .5% odds
Since the item the forge spits out is not removed your odds remain exactly the same every time you toss 4 in. If you do it 1 time you have a .5% chance of getting a precursor, if you do it 1,000 times you have a .5% chance each time, if you do it 1,000,000 times your odds are still going to be .5% each time you hit that forge button.
Now, if you use exotics instead you have a 100% chance each time to get an exotic but since there are 30 different exotics you could possibly roll, may be more as I haven’t checked to see, the chance of getting the one you’re after is 3.3% chance.
I admit, my math may not be perfect but I think I’m pretty close, assuming the chances for rare to exotics are roughly 15% and there are 30 exotics on the loot pool. Has been a long time since I had to do math like that though. Lol.
Dusk/Dawn are still under priced.
Well think of it this way. The chance to get a precursor is actually a 50% chance; u either get it, or you don’t. Apparently your luck was just on the negative 50% side of not getting a precursor. Blame it all on bad luck
