Q:
Let’s say I make the Endless Quiver and drop in a Precise Infusion. What happens to that Precise Infusion when I upgrade to the Infused Endless Quiver?
Do I just lose it (and all the expensive mats) and I have to get a new infusion to put in the slot?
Does the +5 precision from the Precise Infusion get added to the item (unlikely I know).
Does it transfer over so I get the new Infused Endless Quiver with the Precise Infusion still slotted?
Or is it simply a lot cheaper to make the Infused version of the quiver before spending mats on expensive infusions? That or spend the 225 fractal relics for a versatile infusion first.
Also, WTB ascended back slots with power, precision, toughness instead

A:
A: You lose the infusion and it becomes an empty slot.
This happened to me, I created the swift base quiver and added a precise infusion to it. Recently I upgraded the quiver to infused version. After the upgrade, the infusion slot became empty again and my precise infusion gone. So yeah, definitely make the infused version first before using the infusion slots.
I would also like to know this. I saw a guy on my server trying to make a legendary a while back, but couldn’t put the precursor into the mystic forge. I don’t know if it’s because he transmuted it, or because he put something in the slot. Will putting in the cheap +5 agony infusion prevent me from upgrading my item when the time comes?
Transmuted items cannot be used for fixed recipes. So transmuting precursors makes them useless.
Not very well thought through by Anet that
But thanks for answer.
