This isn’t a complaint, just that the wiki seems incomplete and I would like to plan this out appropriately.

I liked the way I was just about ready in terms of mats to craft my set of level 35 gladiator armor at level 35, and that stuff lasted me a long time. It was a little lacking by the time I got top the level 50 stuff, but same thing, crafted all the intricates and this seems to be better than random drops for awhile. Saved any need to grindcraft (PvE of course). I have to say that the crafting fits my progression perfectly which is a huge improvement over other grindfests.

But there are still 3 tiers of intricate insignias, but only 30 levels left. can someone tell me if that pattern continues? It would seem logical that you could do the same thing ie: skip the wearing of tier 4 armor until you can get into tier 4 intricate, and again for tier 5 until you can get into tier 6 intricate, but what happens after mithril? Am I mis-counting?

Also is it always the gladiator skin? Not that I mind, just curious. All comments on intricate heavies welcome

Hmm, well I’m no expert on heavy armor crafting, but I have maxed out leatherworking. The intricate insignias do indeed continue until you hit lvl 80 armors (exotic). What I mean by this is you will first unlock the standard insignias, then the intricates. After mythril is the orichalcum stage, which is only used in the crafting of the exotic armors. Pretty sure there is only one type of insignias at that level. Also, the armor skin should change. Sorry if I didn’t really answer your question.

Good to know XD, also, there is actually a better level of insignias after intricate. If you go to the armorsmith master crafting merchant, one of their tabs will sell insignia recipes for karma that are of rare and exotic (lvl 80 only) variety.

hehe, yeah when I started out I recycled a couple dozen toons before finally just settling on this one by chance, and before destroying them I always spent all the karma and cash and salvaged anything I could; so this little girl ended up with the entire vendor invoice from armorsmith and jeweler. and I’ve got several jugs of liquid karma sitting in the vault, I haven’t needed it.

I just made it to the next level and it looks like tier 4 (linen) intricates also make gladiator armor but for level 65. I’m short on linen though so I’m not quite ready to build the next set; I went from 50 to 65 in just the last few hours without realizing it. Should have spent more time exploring I guess. Oh well, still one awesomely well balanced game.

All the rare(intricate) skins will be the gladiator set, always the same skin(applicable to all crafting skills). The only skins that do change are the ones from the fine/masterwork crafts.

Sometimes it’s necessary listening to the silence, it could tell more..

That was what it was looking like. So really my question has evolved:

Tier 2 intricate wool: level 35 Gladiator
Tier 3 intricate cotton: level 50 Gladiator
Tier 4 intricate linen: level 65 Gladiator
Tier 5 intricate silk: level 80 Gladiator??
Tier 6 intricate gossamer: level 80 Gladiator??

Assuming I have this right, what is the difference between the last two?

The last one shouldn’t be gladiator, it should be draconic. As the only gossamer using craft is the exotic one. Tier 5 craft lvl 8p silk will be of rare quality at most. Tier 6 will be exotic, which has higher stats, but is much more costly to produce (need globs of ectoplasm).

You certainly can wear this armor all the way up. I did the same thing, but did it in greens until I got to 80.

Thanks all, going to see if I can make it today. Although it looks like there is enough on the TP to just buy it at this point.
