Jute/Leather deficit.. anything being done?
Yeah, they’re adding a trading post and multiple zones of the same level-range.
Doesn’t fix the fact that you can get ore / planks out the wazoo but get to lvl 80 and still be at <50 tailoring.
In my day we didn’t have Guild Wars 2, we had World War 2.

Curtis, multiple zones of the same level-range don’t help.
Leather and Jute are mostly gear drop base. Once you out level the zone the loot tables change and thus you won’t be looting gear that disassembles into jute and rawhide leather. Even the scrap we can dissemble changes.
The best we can hope for at level 20+ is a loot bag from select level 10 zone mobs and the loot bags have their own loot tables that doesn’t mean jute or leather every time.

Just buy it. Really you don’t need that much to go 75+ Maybe 50s worth give or take.
The cloth I can understand, but there is so much leather on the marketplace that its better to sell leather of all levels to the vendor than on the trading post. Seriously, you can get it dirt cheap. Ask your guild mates to send you some, they probably have it coming out their…ears, yah we’ll go with ears.

I can get 70+ Jute in one hour of farming. Go to any area in the game (lvls 1-15) that has a high number of bandits (or humanoid mobs). Slay said bandits and open the bags they have, this will net you mixture of all low lvl crafting components. They will also drop a considerable amount of “Shredded Garments”. These always salvage into Jute.
There should be jute plants you can gather to get ‘jute fibers’ and replace the scraps with fibers. Salvaging would also get fibers instead scraps.
It’s be be basically renaming it into something you can gather, instead something you only salvage.
Jute plants then could spawn in any plant or tree spot.
Then increase the sickles to 100. Since there’ll be another thing to use it with.
I didn’t really have a problem with Jute, and not at all with leather. It was the rare materials for making insignia. Make sure you salvage anything not worth selling on the TP. You’re probably aware there are “salvage materials” that could be mistaken for vendor junk. If you complete exploration of a zone you get 40 pieces of material for that tier, and a good deal of cash. At lower levels I’m not hung up on making myself the ideal armor for my build – the mish mash of insignia worked fine. I’m not a min-maxer.

Have you gone to lower level zones? I’m level 80 and clearing areas I haven’t visited while leveling. I’d say 75-80% of my item drops are for the level of the zone. I wish most of the drops were close to level 80 and I could have something worth selling.

I’m still waiting for a good reason from you. “I don’t like it” is not a good reason, not without specifics.
Jute is too expensive on the AH because again everyone else needs it bad too and it cant really be farmed so how else do you get it? It would cost about 1 gold to get enough assuming you optimally use each one.
Currently Jute is being sold at 30 copper each. You need 350 Jute for going up to 75 if using certain guides. that means you need 1 Gold 5 silver for enough jute to get to 75. Certainly not much for a lvl 80 character, but it kills the point of leveling it across your own progression in order to benefit yourself of your creations. Extremely nice armor or weapons for lvl 30 sell for as low as 80 copper each so it really kills any point on leveling Tailoring and Leatherworking.
I wish. Just spent the last hour farming bandits for the jute cloth and only came away with 23 scraps. Uhg. Bored. Logging off now.
