I have the precursor “The Lover” for “The Dreamer” but it’s not the stats I want. My question is: If I transmogrify (sp) The Lover, keep the skin, the sigil, but just switch the stats from another exotic lvl 80 short bow, will it still be valid to craft The Dreamer with?

The other part of this question is: When I have The Dreamer, will I be able to transmogrify (again Sp) The dreamer, keeping the skin and sigil, and still have the rainbow effect?

Now I have asked around and have heard yes and no from numerous people on both questions. So I’d like to get this straight.

This has been asked a few times and as it stands, if you transmute your pre cursor then you may not be able to create your legendary. Even swapping the sigil may prevent you from using the weapon in the mystic forge to create your legendary. It is a known issue and at this time AN are currently working on it.

With regards to transmuting it after you obtained the legendary. Then yes, you will be able to keep the skin and the effects but put your own stats and sigil. If you trasnmute the stats then the weapon will take on the colour of the stats and thus become orange and no longer be purple. If you swap the sigil only then the weapon will retain its purple colour.

Bottom line, do not transmute the precursor weapon until AN officially confirm that the issue has been fixed but its safer to just keep the pre cursor.

I would be careful with this. I was reading some time ago that there was a bug occuring that the precursors didnt work anymore in the recipe after transmutating them. I remember there was a statement from A net that they are looking into this. But im not sure if that Bug is fixed already.

Thanks guys. Yeah it’s pretty much the same thing I have been hearing. Except I wasn’t aware that Anet is doing something about it. Thanks for the quick responses and hopefully it’ll be fixed soon.
