Alright so after doing around 30+ tries,with level 78 exotics and level 80 rares (Full 4 exotics and then 4 full rares).

I came to the conclusion the system is so random and without any kind of guideline its simply a waste of money.

In most of my 4 rare staffs attempts I got a rare staff back,sometimes getting lucky and getting a pearl weapon,actually making profit to cover 3 past fail attempts with that money.

I noticed when using a level 80 rare Orrian Staff of the Traveler 4 times in the mystic forge,I got 3/4 times a rare staff named Berserker Staff of Accuracy,so I’m betting there is a better formula to increase % of getting The Legend of Rage,Maybe if you use Rage oriented staffs it has better chances.

with the level 76-78 exotics I used,I always got a pearl weapon or some kind of 80 equivalent that I sold at worst case for 2g (while Investing 4-4.5 gold per an attempt).

There must be something we haven’t discovered yet because as Bill said in another thread,there are Multiple ways to get the Base Exotics weapons to get a legendary,if only one of the devs would confirm there are stuff that we haven’t discovered regarding that matter maybe people would start inquiring and experimenting.

Right now from what I’ve seen you can get a Base Exotic weapon for Legendary crafting in the following ways:

•Loot drop off a mob in Cursed Shore (Seen one guy getting it and wearing it infront of me)
•Placing 4 level 75+ Rare/Exotic Weapons of the same type in the Mystic Forge.
(A person on Guild Wars 2 Guru reported putting 4 random weapons of the same rarity and getting a base weapon as well)
•Loot from the chest at the end of a world Event (Temple God Events,Arah Gate Takeover event and The two Dragons)

Does anyone has any Input he would like to share about his experiences getting a Base Weapon?How he got it?What did he put in the mystic forge to get it and what did he learn during his fail attempts with it?(see my input on the Orrian Staff of the Traveler)
