So poultry meat, which used to be like 1-2.5s has skyrocketed to 6s+

The herbed soup stock which waas like kitten is now 6s+

Lemongrass itself has remained the same

How come the bowls of lemongrass soup have stayed around 30s when the ingredients other than the grass itself, have gone up significantly?

WvW season 2. Expect lots of lemmongrass poultry to be crafted in the coming weeks.

The sheep pay a premium for lemongrass, while the rest save on leeks.

just kill some moas.

It’s likely not being sold, either being prepped for self use and stocked up or pots are being made for guilds/servers WvW S2 as stated above.

Go kill 50 moas or raptors and look at the amount of slabs of poultry meat you get: 0-3?

Now go kill 50 cows and look at the amount of slabs of red meat you get: 15-30?

This explains to me the reason slabs of poultry are so expensive…the drop rate sucks compared to similar items for other recipes.

The difference in drop rate between red and poultry meat is due to the fact that raptors and moas have 5 to 8 items on the loot table while dolyaks only have 3.

Poultry meat is also found in over a dozen different loot bags.

Lemongrass is easily obtainable in a very small/easily farmed area in SoD. Park a couple alts there, go grab it every few hours (doesn’t take long to grab all the herb nodes in that crescent band). Grats you now have a steady stream of lemongrass and some coriander which spiked in price due to the dye changes (sell for more lemongrass or poultry or whatever).

Yeah did that yesterday again, started with 30 lemongrass, came out with 150. Just park alts there and check if they respawned every 30 minutes

It’s speculators trying to profit off of WvW players. Though, being a smart WvW player, I’m ALWAYS thoughtful on farming the mats to keep up my stock of WvW foods.

Looking at gw2spidy a huge amount of poultry was bought up around October last year, and another batch around the end of January. I am not sure why this happened (January might have been due to the latest tournament announcement) but the current price rise looks to be the end result of all the purchasing that happened earlier now that the poultry surplus has all been acquired.
