First off, I think it’s awesome that some ingredients are regional. What I don’t think is awesome is that some ingredients are not only regional, but also random drops. What’s even less awesome is that these difficult to get ingredients are required for recipes that are on the “critical path” as we like to say at work.

I’m not sure if there’s just too wide a variety of things that can drop from herb nodes for how many there are that spawn, or if the key ingredients (dill and rosemary for me – I’m certain other folks are stuck on other things like vanilla) are too rare. I have so many zucchini that I’m giving them away to everyone I know (just like in real life :/ ), but I can’t find more the 3 puny sprigs of rosemary (unlike real life, where I have a rosemary bush that’s trying to devour my house).

Maybe we could have some herb patches similar to the pumpkin, potato, et. al. spawns? I’m fine with it being up a jump puzzle or guarded by Veterans – at 2s a sprig it would be worth my time.

I get why these ingredients were moved off of the vendors, and fully support it, but we need a more reliable way to harvest items we’re likely to use a lot of.

What is the problem again? is there a level 400 dish that you must make and is overpriced?

Otherwise, I just 0 to 400 my Warrior for the sake of leveling today with a marginal cost of 50s + -

I’m one of those silly folks that doesn’t cook to level. I’ve gotten to level 80 without getting any crafting to 400. I want to do all of the discoveries, and still be able to cook food to use.

I have to pay for a lot of my ingredients, which I’m fine with. I have to travel all over the place to open up karma vendors for certain ingredients. I’m fine with that too. It shouldn’t be as difficult as it is to find certain ingredients that are used in a lot of recipes.

They ruined the balance when they moved some of the herbs from karma vendors to nodes. I have a fair number of rosemary farmed by my 1st toon before the change, but after that, my 2nd toon can hardly find any. Since I missed on buying chillipepper before the change. now I am suffering from everything that includes chillipepper. We don’t even know if they are aware of this or not, because I see nothing posted on this. Ignorant or not, many of us are suffering from all this frustration stacking up day by day and you know what it usually ends up in.

Behaving like a dictator and changing things drastically without prior notice is only going to lose every single faith holding on them. Blizzard did not do that and they always have things on PTR to have us warned if things are going to change massively. This is a huge difference between ANet and Blizzard, and would end up that between a failure and a success.
