Most materials such as Gold, Silver and Platinum are rarely used after crafted a few levels within Jewlery, nobody really harvest them and most people just sell them on the TP for some simple gold. I have also noticed on the Trading Post, that the Silver Doubloons you can only get from chest and foes in the lvl 20 range, and REALLY expensive. If you want to craft The Juggernaut, you would have to spend almost 300 gold ONLY on the Doubloons, which is an insane amount of gold for an item that is pretty hard to come by (hence the value).
So, why not make silver and gold noticeable again, by allowing us to craft these nifty items? The Juggernaut wont be one of the worst Legendaries ever to aquire, and the people who notice this first and has gathered a lot of silver through the months can make some money out of a useless material that has piled up the inventory..
So, Silvers value will increase, Silver Doubloons would decrease a bit, and those who want to get the juggernaut but wont spend 700g on a precursor and another 300g for ONE tiny part of the recipe will the journey be less tedious.

A thread like this pops up every week or two. To this, I’ll just post the same suggestions I’ve made to every one.

1. Introduce a recipe to upgrade Copper Doubloons to Silver Doubloons.

2. Gift of Quicksilver now requires Platinum Doubloons.

Maybe there will be a change when jeweler goes to 500. Would be nice to have a use for silver since it’s as cheap as mithril.

Expect the Xunlai Electrum Ingots to require large amounts of Silver ore, moderate Gold ore, and small Platinum ore (since Platinum is shared by Jeweler as well as Armor and Weaponsmithing).

Question is, have you tried this out for yourself or did you just copy/paste what some random guy posted? I believe they’re all random rewards.

If this happens, I would like advanced warning from Anet, so that I can unload my stash of Silvers before the price tanks.

Yes, obviously, exactly as a rare + rare + rare + rare = precursor. I guess that’s why nobody asked yet for a precursor crafting.

Tried that 3 times – the 2nd line – got rubbish – no problem as I had heaps.
