Got in to this discussion with a guildie, this isn’t a discussion about should or should not, so much as is it possible? He claims it is not, I am wondering if it is.

It is possible, if you buy recipes from karma vendors to have something to craft every 25 levels.

Not sure though, if it holds true to every profession.

Nope, not even close. If you don’t discover at least a good one-quarter of your recipes you simply can’t proceed to the next level of crafting in any craft. That “one-quarter” figure depends on you repeating your “known” recipe until it is exhausted.

It’s not the fastest or cheapest way to complete any craft unless you have a lot of buddies willing to donate mats.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

Theoretically, it is actually possible since all levels will have some given recipes that you can craft over and over.

Of course, it’s not optimal to do it that way since as you level up, you will get less and less exp (until you reach the new level threshold for new given recipes), therefore using more and more mats.

But you will always have something to craft or refine that gives you exp to prevent you from becoming “stuck” in the case where you have discovered every recipe for the tier you are at.

Like I said, it wasn’t about whether you should or should not. I don’t like the discovery system personally, I’d rather they scrapped it entirely but it’s too efficient to level with it. It just got me thinking if you could, I honestly wish leveling without was just as efficient.

It’s not that bad if you don’t mainly use discovery. It is a little more expensive though. Depends on the craft as far as how much more expensive.

Discounting whether it’s possible or not….WHY the “EFF” would you want to do this? It makes NO sense to repeatably craft items you neither need nor can make money on. I know lots of guides do this at certain stages to simplify buying the materials needed and possibly reducing the costs some (depending on the current value of the materials).

Salvaging for the Luck from multiple items is the ONLY reason I could fathom…..but you can still get that from the discover items (there are just less of them).

Ok…maybe answered my own question there…

Saves time/effort.

If you do it for cooking it’s all of 10-50 silver more to do it via the fast repeating method (depending on how many hearts you have).
