I’m currently level 19, which I know isn’t particularly high.

I want to level my crafting (just Tailor for now), but I find that the drops are not very frequent (Jute from Bandits) and the TP prices feel absurdly high (I’ve still only amassed like 20 silver in my character’s life. Ugh).

Is there a faster way to farm the necessary materials? Or at least, a faster way to farm moneys?

Thanks fer any tips

Just skip crafting until you are higher level and have amassed some cash/materials. While leveling you will be able to buy gear off the TP for cheaper than it will cost you to make.

I don’t think Awesome answered your question. Jutes from bandits are the fastest way to get jutes, so if it’s not fast enough for you then your only other option is TP.

Have you been salvaging all your drops? At your level there’s nothing worth holding on to so you should salvage all the equips you’ve been getting. Once your equips start selling for 50c or more then you should sell the equips. But I’m still salvaging level 80 white and blue-named light armour tops as they might sell back to merchants for almost 1s but I can get 4 raw mats from it, and cotton/gossamer would have cost me more than 1s.

Another option is to buy insignias off the TP instead of crafting them. You’ll get a bit less EXP but it’s cheaper than finding all the jute and totems and fangs and whatever, and the discovery EXP is the big one you’re looking for anyway.

EDIT: Of course, if you’re not going to use the food ingredients, wood and copper ores you’ve been gathering as you go around the map, put those up for sale and you can use the earnings to buy materials.

If you look carefully, you’ll see some components and insignias selling for below what it would cost to make them (using the highest buy offer for raw material prices, component prices, and insignia prices). If the component is over 15% lower, just buy the component from the TP, by making an offer at just over the current buy offer. It may take a while for the order to fill, but you can always cancel it at no loss if you get outbid.

Making buy offers takes patience, but it pays off quite a lot in savings.

Once you can buy your first rare insignia from the tailor master, you’ll be able to craft rare items and (mostly) break even or make a small profit.

If you wanted to craft tailoring, you should’ve salvaged every light armor you saw that you could not use/didn’t use afterwards. I did that with two characters at and have amassed around 150 jute scraps. (not enough to level both tailoring and armorsmith, but close anyways).

Don’t disturb me, I have a cat in me at the moment.
