Guild Wars 2

I started leveling an alternate character today and decided to do it via crafting, however I do not seem to be gaining levels as I expected. I have leveled three professions from 0-400 and my character has only advanced from level 3 to level 27. All of my searches return results which emphatically state that going from 0-400 in any craft will always yield 10 character levels. That does not appear to be true.

Has something changed recently affecting character experience gained by crafting?

Edit: Now I have completed 5 crafting skills from 0-400 and barely hit level 41. This seems wrong.

Yes, something did change. When they introduced ascended crafting, they added 400-500 to the 3 weapon-making disciplines. To go along with that, they adjusted the leveling curves of ALL crafting disciplines so that you would need to go to 500 to get the full 10 levels. That included the ones that still cannot go to 500. However, if they release ascended armor is a similar fashion as weapons, then the armor-making disciplines would be able to go to 500.
