Leveling with Crafting - XP lowered / capped?
This wouldn’t shock me at this point. They probably want players to experience the game with the new leveling system rather than bypass it by crafting. Never mind the fact that you can use the tomes still.
I just wonder if this is intended or just a bug, since I spended my gold on crafting and expected sth else. If this is intended, where is the big post from anet? I feel like I got slapped in the face
lvl 28 charactor, just crafted cooking 0-400 and got 1 lvl. really not impressed. have submitted it as a bug
even same level….^^
Had a guild mate say the same thing – I think he said two levels for 1-400. Curious if it’s intended because that’s a change that I’m sure people would like to have known beforehand.
I think XP for crafting was reduced long before this patch. I anticipated some mat spikes etc. post-crafting patch so did 1-400 weaponsmith last week, I think I gained 1 level.
Gone are the days of getting almost 10 levels for getting cooking to 400…
Well unless the patch on 9/9 changed something, you still get 7-8 levels from 1-400. The change was only stretching out the xp since some crafts are 500 now which in that case, going from 1-500 will still net you 10 levels just like pre 500 level crafting did from 1-400.
Am I legendary yet!?
I did some crafting yesterday. 150-225 on weaponsmith, armorsmith and tailor. Weapon/armor was on a 28 and tailor on a 16 or so. I gained far far more % on the level for the tailor than I did on weapon/armor and that was 2 disciplines on the 28 and 1 on the 16.
Its entirely possible (at least from what I noticed) that they made it a flat amount so that you can level 1-10 or 10-20 (not any 10 levels) or weighted it in some way where you get a diminishing return the higher your level.
