Guild Wars 2

I have the recipe for the Superior Mad King Rune, have all the ingredients, but I’m unable to “discover” the recipe. I was able to make (discover) the Minor Rune. Anyone know why I can’t craft it? (I’m level 415 for tailoring)

If you learned the recipe, you dont need to discover it again. It should show up in your crafting panel under upgrade components.
Maybe you consumed (learned) the recipe on a different character?

The Minor rune version can be discovered, but the Major and Superior versions must be learned from a recipe. (They were rare drops from ToT bags in previous years, but I haven’t seen a single one from ToT bags this year.)

Those recipes are forged.

250 candy corn and 25 each nougat spiders and skulls, you get a random recipe of the mad king or for sigil of night, major or superior, for a random crafting profession, so you get 1 of 12 possible recipes for each forging.

I think I know what happened.

You used the recipe for the wrong discipline. You got an Armorsmith or Leatherworker recipe on your Tailor. The sheets aren’t universal.
