I’m a fan of a crafting and will sometimes spend a day doing nothing but gathering and crafting, but sometimes it feels like a chore with very little reward. As an weaponsmith I work hard to level up, finally make a new, more powerful weapon that I can use, then replace it with drops and quest rewards until I’ve level up and crafted enough to be able to use the next metal. I just feel like you should be craft things worth using as you gain both character levels and crafting levels. I think this can be done by being able to make an better items with the same material or by being able to reforge items once or twice before you reach the next tier of materials.

Try buying the rare recipes from the crafting master, for karma. Those are pretty nice, better than anything that drops (until the really high levels).
