Mystic Binding Agent
your gonna have to wait at least a few more days till people have the laurels to buy them
I’m also very curious of this, I’m currently only needing the precursor and some more lodestones for my legendary… and with the current price of precursors any gold that I can save will help.

Yeah, we will see them on Feb 1st when the monthly gives 10 laurels.
Still…
This item will likely be the only effective way for players who don’t control the market to get rare crafting materials.
I still refuse to buy the charged lodestones in the market until they at least hit one gold each.
Most likely a way to increase the amount of X lodestones you have for those legendary seekers out there. I mean, how many forums have been dedicated to complaining about Charged Lodestone prices (I know i have participated in them…:|)? Hopefully, this will make it easier to get them. Crosses fingers

Well its 1st of Feb.
Anyone found out what they do yet?
Yeah you are right it’s the 1st of Feb, check back 5 Days later.

2 more days and we’ll see…
My guess is that they will replace the Elonian Wine in the recipe for promotions. This will make promoting these materials cheaper and profitable which will increase the supply of the higher mats. Pure speculation though still a couple days left to find out.
You might be right, but the description says lodestones too. So how can lodestones be combined with that is my question to ur theory.
My guess is that it replaces lodestones. So for example u need 100 charged lodestone, then u will have to get a hundred of the mystic binding agent. Reason for my theory is that it is still really hard to get Lauriels too.
And it reminds me of the mystic forge stone. Same theory.

My uninformed guess : transform one type of crystal/lodestone to another.
example : one Crystal Lodestone + Mystic Binding Agent + ??? = one Charged Lodestone.

Interesting, that could very well crash the market for some lodestones while bumping the price of others.

heres some more theory crafting alot of mystic binding agent and alot of other stones for a precursor? Doubtful but heres hoping
My guess is that, for example, Mystic Binding Agent + x amount of cores = x amount of lodes, or MBA + x amount of fragments =x amount of cores, or something like that.

It could be, but they already have a similar promotion system in game. And it would be foolish to spend laurels when you only get a fixed amount compared to skill points.

My guess is it upgrades the lower tiers of onyx, charged etc into the tier above, so cores into lodestones etc! Or Even 10 slivers into a core maybe?
my guess is 2 slivers + binding agent = shard, 2 shards + binding agent = core, 2 cores + binding agent = lodestone, 2 lodestones + binding agent = 2 lodestones + 1 core or 3 lodestones. i don’t think this will have a massive effect on markets, potentially a short term 40% decrease in prices but back up to 80-90% of original within 3 days.
Isn’t that something like Mystic Forge Stone ? O.o
that wouldn’t make any sense because the bottle of elonian wine already serves that purpose.

So the last required daily is ticking over now right? Shouldn’t be long…

Did you try it with a Lodestone?

FINAL RECIPE:
2 cores + 1 crystal + 1 crystalline dust + 1 agent = 1 lodestone
compared to the other forge recipe of
2 cores + 1 wine + 1 dust +1 crystal
TLDR: Just another way to get lodestone without spending 25s

Can you put lodestones in?
Did you try it with a Lodestone?
lode’s don’t work. The recipe is just another way to upconvert without using 25s for the wine.
NOT worth the laurels.

when you put an agent in the forge, the lodestone in your inventory turns red?
Why did arenanet lied to us…..
Another waste of laurels? Cool. Lodestone crysis is still waiting for a fix.
Lodestone supply has actually improved a lot due to the chance of them dropping from Orrian Jewelry Boxes (which will remain steady over time since there’s not a lot to spend karma on once you’re at the end game). It likely just hasn’t impacted prices much since the initial hit to Lodestone prices meant the playerbase took a look and went, “Hey, I can afford a Legendary now!” and drove prices back up again with increased demand.
haha wow what a waste of laurels. Thanks for taking one for the team, first responders.
sorry for your loss Vol.

I was really hoping that the agents were a way to transmute one type of lodestone/core/shard into another. Glacial, Crystal, Molten stones might have seen a price rise and others a decrease, evening out the whole market a little.
I don’t ask for a lodestone giver gnome, just a bit more eveness in the price across all of them, so the price gougers quit controlling the entire market.

NOT worth the laurels.
Well, thanks for trying it out, Vol. I agree with you – seems like a royal waste of laurels to me, since there is a fixed amount you can get. You can always get more money. More laurels is hard to get.
I can confirm that these are a huge waste of Laurels. Unlike the description says they can NOT be used with lodestones at all.
As far as I can tell this was an attempt by Anet to lead us into thinking they fixed the lodestone situation while also making us spend 10 days worth of work for nothing you couldn’t get in 30 minutes of dungeon running.
Wow, must be some sort of sick joke. Should be able to at least up-convert like 20 cores.
Thank you to the generous souls who decided to test this. I’m not really sure what the logic behind 10 daily achievements equating to a 15-30 minute dungeon run was, but it seems a little… off, to say the least.
Unless there’s some other secret formula that hasn’t quite been figured out yet involving these, but maybe that’s just being too hopeful.
This is terrible. I was really hoping this would kill the lodestone economy.
Sorry you wasted your laurels man. But at least you did it….for science.

10 laurels = stack of 10 agents, so 2.5g worth of wine comparatively. The logic is they’ve made an alternative to spending gold for upconverting which can get spendy. Maybe I’m doing it wrong, but I’ve never come out of any 15-30 min dungeon with 2.5g unless I’m super lucky with drops, so I wouldn’t consider it 10 days of dailies vs. 15-30 minutes, more like 2-3 hours, which may seem less expensive than 10 laurels right now regardless. In like 6 months from now when people are swimming in laurels after getting their amulet I think the agents will be more appealing than spending gold.

Even then, 10 Laurels = 30 random T6 Fine Crafting materials, which is probably going to be worth more than, or close to 2.5g. Failing that, there are the profession boxes which are supposed to give rares and exotics.
It’s more than 2.5g. People seem to forget that when you buy cores and convert them to lodestones, there’s a certain profit margin to be made. This depends on the prices, but it can go up to 30 silver per agent.

The total money you make is more than 2,5g yes.
But that is not relevant in this case, we just need to know the opportunity cost which is exactly 2,5g.
=> Is the opportunity cost high enough to make you spend laurels on the agent?
I look at this like that. 10 days worth of casual play will give you way more than 2.5g. Heck, you can make 2-3g per hour even if you don’t trying hard just by farming DE’s.
Same 1 hour of farming DE’s gives you some karma to gamble with Orrian boxes for a chance of lodestone also. 2-3g is also enough to buy 1 lodestone of any kind (well, maybe except charged but close).
10 laurels is 1/3 of ascended item which is more valuable than 7g IMO if you do not enjoy farming fractals.
Despite that, you can only get as much laurels/day as ANet allows you to so it will never be a reliable way to make profit. At least substantial one.

It depends on your wealth. If your wealth is 5g, you cannot afford the 2.5g opportunity cost – if you also need to buy the cores. Also, the 25 silver per laurel is static, whereas, say the 1 laurel per crafting bag, is not. You may get lucky, and you may not (leather squares ftw!). If your wealth is 500g, your picture of what laurels are worth is obviously different, and will allow you to look at what laurels can do for you in the long run.
The first person (5g) is better off upgrading cores. Because you need gold to generate gold. The second person (500g) is better off saving to build a magic find infused amulet.
“Replaces Bottle of Elonian Wine in the material promotion recipe.”
Are you kittening serious?
After all the threads on unfair lodestone prices,
After all the market manipulation and lack of supply,
After all that its just a 10 laurels replacement for the wine bottle that cost 25 silver.
This game is dead to me.
Arena.net just don’t have a clue.
Maybe Johns trolling me.
It is still a possibility that the agents can be used to infuse the new ascended amulets. No one has one yet, so it can’t be confirmed.

Wrong. You’d be surprised how many ppl already have them (Ascended Triforge).
I think they said it cant even be put in forge, but not 100% sure right now.
