As you probably have seen already, the price of the mystic coins has been rising a lot recently. I’ve been playing since the start of the game and I have found myself short of those coins recently, even if I try to do as much dailies as I can (probably ~80% of them).

The thing is, you need a lot of them in all the crafting recipes at the mystic forge. Enhanced kits, legendaries, exotics, infusions, infused items … They all require a lot of coins.

At the start of the game, people had accumulated a ton of them while leveling up, but now that quite a lot of players are reaching the high level content, the demand on mystic coins has exploded, while the supply hasn’t (to the contrary, people aren’t selling them anymore considering how many you need for the high level crafting).

I don’t see this trend stopping, especially when each monthly even brings us more awesome items that requires a big chunk of mystic coins to craft in the mystic forge.

So my question : is it intended that mystic coins become a pricy component (10s+) in the mystic forge recipes ?

If no, wouldn’t that be a great candidate for purchases with karma ?

same deal IMO. Mystic Coins are also needed in the proccess of making legendary (clovers) and as more and more ppl try to make those the demand will rise. Also loads of karma is needed so… Okittenarma you can farm as much as you want and there are various buffs to increase gain of it.

Just wait for another month and Anet will have a 5, 10 and 25 pack of Mystic Coins for 150, 300, and 750 gems. Or something along those lines. Seems to be the trend for how this company operates so wait and buck-up.

I think its intended that you get mystic coin-based items at the rate of under 40 coins per month (30 dailies + the monthly). If you want a 100 coin item, you should only be able to get one every third month.

Buying them to exceed that rate of aquisition is strictly a luxury, with a cost based on how many people have finished everythign they use them for or given up on such specialized goals. Honestly I’m shocked they’ve priced as low as they have so far. We’re talking about a once per day per acount good, with dreadfully low surplus to utility. I probably should have bought more, because looking at them I knew I’d NEVER sell mine for less than a gold a pop.
