I’ve tried this a few times but, all I’ve gotten is a single gem back, huh?

What are the seals you can get, never seen a seal before?

Will the MF take embellished gems?

Does the number of Gems matter, like 2, 3 each?

Consider this a method of RNG recycling a grouping of 4 orbs you don’t want for a chance of getting one that you do want. I used to huck Chryscola orbs in, blindly hoping for Ruby, Sapphire, or Emerald orbs back so I could progress towards a Triforge Pendant…. (and it worked, less than I wanted though)

Then I started working on The Dreamer…. DOH!

Everyone knows the Mystic Forge is random but, is all you can get as a jewel is Chryscola Orb?

Sorry, what I meant was, I used Chryscola orbs because I had lots of them that I didn’t want at the time. You can mix, 2 of Chryscola, 2 Beryl, 1 of each of four different things…. I’ve probably junked a hundred or so orbs, and every now and then, yes, I got a Crest or Seal …. which promptly caused more cursing as the resultant crest was even less useful than the Orbs I was throwing in, and usually worth less as well.

I have never gotten an upgraded (exquisite) jewel by using the mystic forge.

In short, the act of throwing 4x Orbs into the forge is not one I recomend unless you have an exceptional surplus of orbs of types that you don’t need…. in which case, it’s a good way to try to get orbs that you do need. Or, to simply reduce the amount of orbs you have…..

Crest/Seals are upgrade components that are only naturally looted from chests found in the world. They do not come in rarities higher than rare, and are most commonly found in minidungeon and jumping puzzle chests. Most commonly, a L80 opening chests receives at least one green crest, but rarely you’ll loot a rare crest (seal)

The “upgrade” recipie works from a pool of all similar level upgrade components, this pool includes gems and seals. MFing green gems/crests will sometimes result in a yellow seal, as will MFing yellow gems.

I do a lot of JPs, and due to the fact that the green crests are largely useless I always MF them. This has supplied me with a pretty healthy stack of many rare seals, as well as quite a few extra orbs.
