Inspired by a recent thread about getting precursors by using Mystic Forge Stones, I decided to go for it as well. I’ve had around 220 of these stones from achievement boxes so now was their time!
I decided to go with lvl 80 rares, random types and I didn’t have to wait long to notice that something is going on. I’ve been using MF for a year now, throwing thousands of exotics and rares down inside it with many good results. I don’t come with raw data numbers but just noting my ‘experience’ here.
So the deal is – I’ve been getting A LOT of named (unique, uncraftable) exotics back from Zommoros. I dare to say it was over 70% (as noted below) of all exotics I got by using MFS.
I know there are many theories about MF and manipulating its results but here, although using a relatively small sample, it was really noticable.

Anybody had similiar experiences? Also I got a precursor this way as well – Rage >.<

I did this twice before the last major patch. About 400 rares. Stones were mixed in there somewhere and did not notice a difference. I still have a little over 100 left. Maybe I’ll grab 50 rares and see how it goes.

I tried this after the first post a few months back.. I had worse luck and got mostly rares back. You had a good run and nothing more imo.

Please don’t waste it on rares. It’s not efficient.

If you honestly think that it has an increased chance at a precursor, use it along exotics, that way you get more bang for your buck.

Also I used rares because it’s way faster to fill buy orders. People are into salvaging exotics now so it’s gotten kinda slow to buy something with orange name!
