Mystic Forge changes?

that was explicitly mentioned in the patch notes. I was referring to this more cryptic line:
“Some Mystic Forge recipes have been updated to provide a wider range of results.”

only thing I’ve noticed so far was any items you throw in you haven’t unlocked the skin for it will unlock that skin.
My guess is that the distribution of possible results when you forge 4 of a kind items is more evenly spread now. It used to be that there was a skew towards the Pearl(crafted) items.
All we know is that we will like the new change, John promised us.

Keep in mind though that it said throughout the year:
Mystic Forge
The Mystic Forge is going to get a lot of changes this year. To kick things off, we’re adjusting the way Zommoros distributes rare and exotic rewards a bit, allowing for more variation in output. This is just a stepping stone to further changes that will make the Mystic Forge a much better experience in the future. Please note: the rate of precursors will not be affected.

“Whose Charr is this?”- “Ted’s.”
“Who’s Ted?”- “Ted’s dead, baby. Ted’s dead.”
well, honestly, i rather hope that it is a bug but the change i found is rather annoying and i feel nothing but scammed:
putting in lvl 80 exotics of same kind gave me an awesome lvl 75 exotic – which make me wonder how that cannot affect the chances for getting a precursor if you can get pretty much every exotic between at least 75 and 80 from putting in lvl 80 exotics (same goes for lvl 80 rares – used to get lvl 80 rare or exotic – now the outcome level is pretty much RANDOM)

Any time the forge rolls a lv75+ exotic as the result do a roll to see if it is a precursor. If yes then you get a precursor. If no then you do another roll to see which of the lv75+ exotics you get. Assuming you are rolling against the same numbers the chance of getting a precursor should remain the same.
Combine any winged backpiece with a Mini Dolyak, an Eldritch Scroll and a Vision Crystal to forge a flying dolyak mount.

Inspiration is only as good as it’s interpreter
Not sure on the changes. All i know is i tossed in 100 rare runes yesterday to upgrade and didn’t get a single superior back, now i know it’s rng but i’ve never had a bad patch like that.

If I were to guess, I would say that there is a slightly higher chance of getting named items out of the forge. I haven’t done anywhere near enough forging before or after to be sure, but I have seen a couple of drops of newer named items.
