Ok, so this is no QQ thread. Not at all.

I didnt plan on going for my precursor yet. I wanted to buy all my T6 mats first since then i would have all my gifts. But today something happend. I was doing my daily world boss route, and in the end i had 8 rares. I forged them all, and got the howl (Warhorn precursor). I sold it for 90 gold and therefor i bought all my T6 mats and got my gifts.

Now, the precursor is the only thing left. I know it is cheaper to craft my own rares to toss in.

i am going to the dagger. The precursor is 600 gold and no way im going to farm that. I know i might waste 600 gold in the MF without getting it, and i know its gambling. I wont rage or be upset if i waste it all, UNLESS i have actually spent 600 gold, which i doubt is going to happen anyways.

So, since i have to craft daggers to forge whats the cheapest way to craft them?

The cheapest 80 rare dagger on the TP is 29 silver, so… Should i buy tons of mithril ore and make ingots of, and then buy the insignia or should i buy the mats and then craft the insiginia?

For the insignia i need like 15 venom sacks etc. so if im going to make like… 100 daggers, that makes it 1500 venom sacks? Thats like way to many to buy in a bunch…

What are your advice to making daggers to toss in the forge?

You can craft the daggers or buy the daggers, but either way only get the items through BUY ORDERS. From there, keep tossing.

But always do BUY ORDERS not buyouts.

My advice – farm mithril/wood to make the base material. You might not cover it all, but it can cut a huge chunk of your budget in exchange for time. There are alot of tree and mithril nodes in Orr. While doing this, Events are good to get some cash – sell yellows above ~22s, salvage the crap yellows. Dont for get to grab oricalchum and sapplings along the way of course (these nodes should be a guide to how you run for the other nodes) – craft stuff to get cash and buy even more mithril/wood. T5 mats in large quantities you need to buy no matter the case – there’s simply no way you can farm it unless you are a bot. If you want to spice things up for additional cash, run dungeons, buy out some crap yellows and salvage for ectos which you then sell.

Or of course you can run CoF1 24/7 and buy the rares for the cash/tokens.

For some reason, the mystic forge seems to kick out nonstop Zaps for me. I’ve also noticed that quite a few of my guildies (some of whom were going for other legendaries) have also obtained Zap. Maybe you shoud try tossing swords in the forge and selling Zaps to acquire your desired precurser….

You can also use karma to buy rare forgeable daggers in WvW (24k karma each)
