Because we can’t be angry about both?
The new UI as outlined in the blog sounds like a massive QoL improvement. Kudos, Anet! I’m looking forward to the changes on this front!
Yep, its going to be a great improvement. Especially for cooking, where the ingredients aren’t “standardized” like they are in the other crafts.
Kinda makes me sad I levelled cooking to 400 a few days ago.
Oh well, still a great change. Especially for Ascended crafting.
I am almost tempted not to craft anything until the UI is fixed. The way the existing UI is “structured” gives me vertigo.
Could the fix include something as simple as keeping collapsed subsections collapsed when switching between discovery and known recipes?
Its great especial for cooking. Now only thing I will miss are Favorites of some sort
Good stuff. It’s going to make crafting of complex items much more manageable.
Good to see badly needed improvements to the crafting UI! This is a good start toward making it resembling something user-friendly.

This is a very good suggestions!

Heh, I know what you mean. I wish I had waited to level all my crafting, even this simple change would have made it so much less of a headache.
Having to hide all the lower level recipes EVERY time you launch the game is a royal pain. Preferably each character would ‘memorize’ what craft levels have been hidden, but at least the account should. Finding all of the time gated crafting every day is tedious.
What would REALLY be nice is listing things I have recently crafted at the top or having a sort option based on last craft time and the ability to hide anything not crafted in the last XX days.

Or a favorites section up at the top.

Yeah .. that is also what i really miss .. that the UI remembers your filter settings and
also what category you have collapsed and what not.

Hmmm….didn’t consider that…good point!
Necro-ing this thread just to say that the new crafting UI is a vast, vast improvement. Thank you to the team who upgraded it.
I am so glad I put off crafting any Ascended items until this new UI came out. I don’t even want to imagine what it must have been like for those poor devils who had to use the old UI. Oh wait, I hit 400 in all my crafting skills before this, so I can imagine it.
At least now the UI makes crafting Ascended items into something tolerable rather than an activity where a root canal seemed like an entertaining alternative.
