Right now the only piece of the Legendary recipe that requires some skill is doing the dungeon runs for 500 tokens. Even that does not exceed normal gameplay. What happened to Fissure of Woe, Underworld, Domain of Anguish type content that was the only way to get the rarest items in the game?

Besides the dungeon runs, a person could literally just buy gold with real money to purchase all the materials, and bot events in Orr, and they have a “Legendary” weapon. Seriously, what is legendary about spending a bunch of currency?

That’s not true. Ecto farming was one of the least skill-required things in the game, and even if it did require skill, it made no difference, considering how people could simply mindlessly farm or buy gold and just buy everything they needed. There was not a single item in GW1 that was a symbol of skill.

Plus 100% map completition, killing people in WvW or doing the jumping puzzles, and so on. The Legendary components are already better than most items in most games simply because many cannot be bought. As far as measuring skill goes, there are very few ways to actually measure skill in a PvE game.

“skill” and MMORPGs don’t go together, all you need is a lot of playtime. Legendary is actually not as bad as most “hard” to earn items since you do have to do a lot of the requirements for it. Like 1 million karma/gift of exploration ect..

There is no skill in any video game in my opinion. You really can’t test skill because at some point, the will be guides for people that don’t have the necessary “SKILL” (LOL) to achieve whatever objective. In video game all that matters really is how much time you have you can achieve anything in a video game by virtue of time.

Also legendary has nothing to do skill BTW, its designed to force the player into doing EVERY aspect of the game.

Might seem a lil weird, but currently YES legendaries are nothing more than ways of forcing players to take part in every aspect of the game and a huge time and money sink.
Many are being sorely disappointed with the results after they craft them too lol.
Best not to dwell on them imho

I agree, with Exotic Gear being purchasable, crafting a Legendary is essentially GW2s “endgame”.

And as such, the crafting process is really, really disappointing.

Sure, it’s good to get everyone to enjoy every aspect of the game but currently it seems like 80% of the Legendary comes from farming Orr like a Bot.

Maybe, the guy/team won tournaments that have cash prizes? The point being money has no relationship to how much skill is required all it says really is that they won a cash prize. The person that won the powerball, I am since said person won a lot of money, surely he must be skilled in life, right?

as for your last statement, whose to say I couldn’t. You don’t know me enough to say it. Also, just remember that lot of these things are dependent on how long someone has been expose to Dota or even FPS game.

However, i will admit that my statement was a little absolute so let me pull it back a little. Very few games have anything to do with skill.
