Since the only way to get materials for ascended weapons is to fight champions or wvw (which I think is crap). Do not get me wrong I do not mind fighting them to a degree, but come on kind of ridiculous. To get dark matter the one thing that takes people quite a while to get exotics you have to salvage them? I am a player that takes things kind of casual. I am not a player that has to have 25,000g but I do like to craft. Dragonite ore for example should just be a type of ore that’s out in the world at the high level not dropped from a champion come on. If anything put a three day reset on it to keep people from over gathering it. What my main concern is about these champion style materials do you get more than one of those items or will it take years to get five of one item?

Any way to the topic at hand. Since people will need to craft more exotics then ever to even make ascended weapons (which should be the base of an ascended weapon) are the nodes for orichalcum , omnomberries, and ancient wood going to stop moving for every update? Why is it needed in the first place? Are you afraid someone will make gold on them or something?

I have been playing this game since the three day head start. I have eight characters one of each profession. I have seven of those characters at level 80 and each one of those is a 400 crafter. So I have some experience under my belt. I have exotics on them all except jewels I have exotics on one none of them have ascended anything. I have a total of 25g A friend of mine had just started and she already because of the event has 175g several champ boxes in less than a week. Now I realize I have not been driving myself like other people have and that is fine, but come on why are my drops so crappy?

I had the same problem in guildwars when holiday items would come around other people would farm them. They would get stacks on stacks in a couple hours. I would get maybe 50 of the same item in the same time doing the exact same thing. I know I was one of the people that had that farming nerf on them. It said that a small percentage (out of 6.5 million boxes sold) will have that farming nerf on them. at a 1 percentage that is 65,000 people with that nerf. I am sure a small percentage meant at least 5-15% or 325,00-975,000 players kind of high numbers for small percentages for a farming nerf. Did the farming nerf carry over to this game?

Also do not tell me that I am not playing right that is a cop out maybe I do not want to play your way or someone else’s way that does not mean I shouldn’t get good stuff also. So I would like to find out if there is any way to remove this nerf curse from my account so I and others like me can get good stuff like most of the population does.

8 characters! So if each character has 3 weapons, you’ll need 24 Ascended weapons total. If you craft these yourself (with 25g in the bank, you can forget about buying them), it will take you a minimum of 12 months. Of course by that time, you’ll have to start grinding for the next tier of gear.

If you don’t farm heavily in this game, then you end up where you are right now, with 25g in the bank.

As for the moving nodes… I believe they move so bots can’t farm them as easily.

But the stuff is not exclusively from Champ boxes or Wuvwuv. They also drop from a range of other activities.

- Bloodstone dust drops from champion loot bags.
- Dragonite ore comes from the end chest for the Orr temple events (Lyssa, Dwayna, Balthazar, etc), megabosses such as the three dragons not just from keeps and castle captures in WvW
- Empyreal fragments drop from dungeons, mini dungeons, jumping puzzles and camps/towers in WvW
- Globs of Dark Matter are from salvaging exotics
- Augur’s Stones are 20 skill points each from Miyani at the mystic forge
- Thermocatalytic reagents are bought from your crafting vendor for 14s96c per 10.

We don’t know where the armorsmithing/leatherworking/tailoring stuff will come from yet.

I actually kind of enjoy having to find out where the dang omnomberries have moved to, it’s the only thing that keeps it from becoming too repetitive. as for the ancient saplings / orichalcum (how do you say that?) I get them more from when I salvage out my blues and rares than trying to find the nodes, though I get far more of the ore than the wood.

Exotics. If you have 8 characters, you should have acquired some black lion salvage kits by now. Look on the TP for exotics that have the same price as the sigil or rune on it. Use buy orders. When the buy order is filled, salvage and sell the rune/sigil and ectos you gained from salvaging. Normally, this should net you a small profit, plus you get the item you need. Rince and repeat until you have enough.

Champions: join the champion train in Frostgorge sound for 3 hours. You should have enough bags by then. Join a group. Find the commander on the map, move along with the train and press /say lfg. Usually, you’ll get an invite in no time. Champion bag drops are not affected by DR. Trust me, you are guaranteed to get it if you are in a group and can keep up with the speed of the group (it’s really fast paced, and it involves a lot of fast waypointing. One missed jump and the boss is down before you can hit it.). You may not like to do it in this manner, but it’s better than being frustrated that you can’t get the items in the way you want them. Three hours should net you enough bags for an ascended weapon – maybe 1 hour will actually be enough.

Nodes: Nodes are not your biggest problem. If I read your post correctly, your problem is the lack of drops, rather than the movement of nodes. I had the same problem as you. At one point, I had enough of it, and learned how the TP and profitable crafting worked (rule of thumb: cheap + quantity over pricy + quality). It took me 2 days. That was time well invested. I earned tons in the meantime, and never had to worry about coin again. Now, I don’t want to tell you how to play, but I’m telling you that I, having suffered the same problem as you in the past, fixed it in this manner. Using your brain, you can earn more coin than the 24-7 farmers. It’s really not that hard in the end. But it’s your call.

Mat nodes have to move regularly or the bots will be back in a hurry.

My posts are facts as I know them, or my own opinion, and do not represent any guild.

The what in where? The times I’ve been in Frostgorge, other than a couple of dragon fights, I don’t think I’ve ever seen more than 1 or 2 other people, if that, or any discussion in mapchat. Certainly never seen a commander sign in there, other than during an Invasion, and that was guesting on TC from my regular server.
