Only rich ores
actually, if you got the wvw buff, you can get more logs per node. Most I got from a single nod was around… 8-9 logs. Most I got from a normal ore node was 5 ores.
I’ve never gotten more than 5 logs in a tree. Now I’ve gotten 4 logs and 2 cache before.
The only reason I can think of is the amount of materials needed to craft items.
The amount of wood needed for crafting is used less by the crafting profession(s) than ore.
Wood is only used for Artifice, Huntsman and Weaponsmith.
Ore is used for Armorsmith, Huntsman, Weaponsmith and Artifice.
Same goes for cooking and plants.
Rich ore nodes are fairly rare, and there are slightly more saplings than ore nodes in the game. Overall I think it balances out.

I’ve managed to get 9 logs out of a tree before. It just didn’t want to be chopped down. I felt kinda bad when it finally fell.
Also keep in mind there are several places in Orr with 5-7 trees in a single spot that are ALWAYS there…. in a way its significantly easier to get trees because of this.
Good to know, Wasn`t even close to Orr yet, but I guess those places should be on every map.
This place is only 1 and it is referred to as the cypress forest – 6 trees cypress trees on the same spot., although there are plenty more around.
@Pig.5827 you are forgetting Jeweler that also requires ore.

I can think of one in Malchor’s Leap (on the south side) and one in Straits of Devastation (at the Acolyte of Melandru) off the top of my head, and I think there was another one but I can’t remember where.

For plants, there are node farms
