So, I’m attempting to level my cooking, i’m sitting at about 240 chef atm. How the heck do you get oranges in bulk? There are no more in the TP, and I hear that Anet has removed them from karma merchants… anyone know?! Or if there is another way to level up without it being absurdly more expensive?

Pirates in Lornars Pass. They drop bags of booty.

Oranges were originally a karma item from a renown heart vendor which could be purchased in bulk. (I think they weren’t even tradeable cause they were a karma item.)
This was changed with a patch and now you can only acquire oranges as a drop (from bags) or randomly from trees. You cannot get them in a bulk anymore.

Try chickpea salad (225 cooking) up to 250.

Chickpeas, Green Onion, Simple Dresssing, and Cumin.

Chickpea – (Renown Heart) Naknar, Grostogg’s Waypoint, Iron Marches (Level 50-60 zone)
Cumin – (Renown Heart) Sagum Relicseeker, Agnos Gorge, Plains of Ashford (Level 1-15 zone)
Simple Dressing – Vegetable Oil, Vinegar, Salt & Pepper
Green Onion – Pretty cheap on the TP. You can also farm it in Iron Marches (Level 50-60 zone), Bloodtide Coast (Level 45-55 zone) and Timberline Falls (Level 50-60 zone)

Then go for Ginger Pear Tarts (250 cooking) after that:

Ginger Root (9 karma per 1) – Chef crafting vendor
Pear – (Renown Heart) Braxa Scalehunter, South of Scalecath, Iron Marches (Level 50-60 zone)
Bag of Sugar
Ball of Dough
