Is Orichalcum ore nodes bugged? I was at Frostgorge Sound and using an Orichalcum pickaxe, I got ruined ore chunk!!!

I confirmed it is Orichalcum pickaxe before anyone else here asked if I am using mitril pickaxe by mistake. which it wasn’t a mitril pickaxe because I just bought a new orichalcum pickaxe at a nearby npc because the current one had 3 more uses to go, so I just finished using it and bam…. ruined ore chunks!!!

You were probably in combat. If you’re considered in combat but not taking hits while you mine, it’s usually (9/10 times I’d say) not a problem. If you’re getting hit while mining, no matter what the ore, you’re almost guaranteed to get the ruined chunks.

If you’re not considered in combat, you’d be guaranteed to get the ores without a problem (assuming you use the correct pick).

I can safely say for sure I was not in combat.
However, I have never gotten this even if I was fighting before. As far as I know of.

Did you just start playing again? A lot of players had the same bug about a month ago and the gathering tools from back then are still bugged. I had the same bug on one of my chars. Just destroy the gathering tool and buy a new one. That should solve the problem.

Interesting. I gather Orichalcum on multiple characters every day and haven’t seen ruined ore for months (and I only remember seeing some once or twice when I had the right pick, and that was long, long ago.) To me, being hit, in combat, out of combat, etc. never makes any difference.

unless its something specific to orichalcum ive never gotten ruined ore while in combat, even while being hit. The only time I get ruined ore is by using the wrong pick. o.O

I get ruined ore all the time. Just today I got 2 ruined ore from the new dungeon when I ran past the spiders to gather the ore and they kitten me while in the process.

it seems to be a rather new feature that u get ruined ore if u try to mine while being hit.
iv seen it more oftern in the last few days on ori, wood, mithril nodes
even while harvesting…

I also ended up with ruined ore when I swapped my axe while in the middle of mining ore(it happened to be an ori node). Avoid doing anything sort of equipment swapping while mining/chopping just to be safe.

I’ve also gotten ruined logs while trying to toss grenades in the middle of chopping a tree.

Using my engineer when that happened. Don’t even have any weapons to swap either!

By swap I meant I was replacing my ori axe with my mithril axe.
