This is one item that is in dire need of help. It is the only level 400 rare crafting material that sells for vendor price on the trading post. It has a recipe for one of the worst runes available (rune of the krait). While all other level 400 rare materials (Lodestones) have several recipes for high end unique items, you can’t even put piles of putrid essence into the mystic forge.

Is this some sort of cruel joke, to make the only decent place to farm at level 80 Orr, and make the rare material that mobs drop there completely useless?

Yea this always bothered me. Surely it has to be useful for something? I assume it drops at the same rate as other tier 6 rare mats, but it has basically no purpose.

I have a few of these…. perhaps it has a purpose not yet known to us?

These items are used to craft potions (artificer). Powerful Potion of Undead Slaying: +10% damage to undead, -10% damage from undead, +10% xp from kills, duration 1hr.

Potion buffs coexist with food buffs so you can have both going. Unlike food buffs however, potion buffs go away if you zone or get splatted.

Part of the reason the price is so poor is due to supply. People farm in orr the majority of the time. It just happens that there are too many generated.

I wouldn’t be opposed to attaching another use or two to it, though.

The price is poor because it’s the only T6 mat that has no mystic forge recipes. The others get consumed in the hundreds with people making various weapons, but the essence won’t even go into the mystic forge.

Add to that the fact that the runes it produces are largely useless, and you have one extremely pathetic item.
