I’ve been trying a rabid armor/weapon build on my necromancer (precision, toughness, condition damage as main stat) and so far I’ve had much more success with killing enemies even in WvW. So far my cond. damage at the lowest possible is a little over 1500 (much more w/ might and Superior Corruption) . I’m currently working on exotic trinkets and the only exotic ring that gives rabid stats that I’m aware of is the ring called “Plague”. On the trading post one of these alone sells for around 25g, which is absurd for a ring. From what I understand this item like many others requires a recipe obtainable from specific dungeons or bosses. The question is where is the recipe obtained and if it’s a drop what are my odds?

its dropped from the boss in caudacus’s manor and the bosses name is plague i believe cant rememeber what path its from but odds are pretty low.

There is a thread listing which boss/path is associated with each of those items.

I am currently running a similar setup and found that it was actually less of a hassle (and cheaper!) to simply get the 2 ascended rings with rabid stats. Now just to get 2X Tortured Root…

I agree with jbera. Ascended rings are cheaper in almost all regards. Your only 2 exotic options for rings are the plague ring and the rabid ring. Drop rates are extremely low for the recipe and im not entirely sure where the rabid ring drops much less what it sells for.

And Jbera if your looking for fill ins for your Tortured Root try the Book of Rabid Deeds. About 25 more con dmg over carrion if running runes of the undead.

BTW whan people say the chance is low, words like “infintesimal”, “not in your lifetime” and “farm the unfarmable” come into play depending on which Order you’re with…
