One of the best sets, but also one of the worst, the Carrion set was meant for condition damage and builds, but the “Power” portion of the set does nothing for condition damage, nore does it help apply bleeds any faster, alot of traits require you to critical to get more dots, but this set adds none.
Power is a completely useless statistic unless you have alot of precision, can we please change the Power on Carrion Set to a better, more useful stat.. Power without “Power” the ability to critical is USELESS… (I only have a 4% chance to critical, I have the entire set.)
“Precision.” – This would allow the Carrion to actually critical, even though the criticals would do far less damage then normally, it would actually PROC things like bleeds and poisons from sigils and traits that cause bleeding on criticals.
“Toughness.” – This would allow the Carrion to survive, and work really well with many builds, Carrions weren’t meant to die easily since the set and play-style is “wearing your opponent down.”

Power being on every single piece of level 80 equipment was a horrible decision on the Dev’s part. They really need to add more diversity in gear stats to make other builds (ie condition damage builds) more viable.
Just take Rabid or Rampagers sets then.

This is why Power is useless, Why should someone who stacks precision do more condition damage then someone who stacks mostly conditions?
Toughness is nice, but with some classes having such a LOW health pool… it destroys the entire concept.

Sigh. The website ate my previous post. In a cliff note version, I have to say that I like Carrion. It’s the dps armor set of choice that I use for one of my Warriors and for my Thief. Both of these characters wanted the Power / Vitality and have specific circumstances where they do lots of Condition damage, which makes the Carrion set a perfect fit.
If you want a new armor set type that uses Precision / Condition / Toughness, then that’s fine. But leave Carrion alone.
Power is completely USELESS without having precision, your critical attacks stacking with power would do far more damage then getting just raw power. (Precision magnifies based on your base power as well, so even if you lost all the power from the set it would just be better.)
Making it Precision would bring about the same damage as you would get with the power you have, you would not see a difference in damage, but since you actually critical, it opens FAR more options for you.
You cannot craft rabid.

There is already a Pre/Tough/Condi set as well as a Pow/Pre/Con set. Your class in your specific build might not use those stats but that doesn’t mean someone else doesn’t, so why change anything? You picked the wrong set, go get another.

There is no “Pre/Tough/Condition” Set for Jewelry, and none for crafting, this is for the crafting forum, this is not the dungeon forum.

Currently, As a Necromancer, I could go Critical Chance (Precision)/Power/Toughness (knights set.) and get far more benefit to my condition damage just by ignoring the stat and focusing on critical, THIS IS NOT RIGHT.

Power is not useless without precision. See, I’m not a spike damage build. I’m a condition damage build. That means attrition. I honestly couldn’t care less about criticals because they are not what I bring to the table. If I wanted to spec for criticals, I’d be sporting a nice set of Berserker’s armor. I’m not. when I face a condition-resistant or -immune foe, power is the next best stat for me, because my goal is to put consistent, predictable pressure on the enemy, and when I can’t do that with conditions, I have to rely on basic attacks.
Here’s a really novel concept. Mix-and-match your armor. You don’t need to wear 6 pieces from the same set, you can combine 2 berserkers with 2 carrions with 2 valkyries.
Sure, precision gives you more crits that can proc various effects, in which case it is about the procs and not the crit damage. Thats fair. I only have precision on some of my jewelry and I still have a crit rate over 50%. I don’t see this as being a problem.
Why is power on pretty much all top-end armor? So you are stronger when down-scaled. It is that simple. Given how downscaling is applied, you wouldn’t be stronger unless your armor had power on it.
Of course, I’m not completely adverse to carrion getting “buffed” so it is more popular… I’ve invested heavily in Ancient Bones. I would just sell mine to fund something that works with my build.

You used to be right, but the devs added an internal cooldown to Sigil of Earth. It is far less effective than your bleed on crit traits because the traits don’t have an internal coolodown.

A necro’s bleed on crit trait is a 1 second bleed with an ICD. It is in no reality better then sigil of earth.

I can only say that you don’t need a ridiculous amount of precision. Once you hit a 40-50% crit chance (which is easily attainable) everything beyond that in crit is truly wasted. Since Carrion has two of the stats you truly want to stack high then power comes and a consistent damage booster to assist your dps.
