Exotic drop and t6 mats realy need to be increased.
At the introduction of ascended weapons and soon armor prices went in a downslope.
While t6 mats are rising due to ascended crafting.
Exotics are soon more a rare then something special. Rare is just a glob chance.
Everybody knows what i am talking about > ooh an exotic what sigil is on it? mweh 1,4g on tp. Will salvage it for dark matter and globs. Maybe i get a Inscription out of it.
Even in Fractals these days peeps are more focusing on ascended weapon crate then aaaah another crappy exotic. And i realy don’t want to start in wvw about the droprates.

Considering t6 mats and it’s increase. T6 is needed to make exotics, and other higher end gear. While the droprate of these mats are rare at most. 250 heavy bags and you get maybe 10-30 utmost t6 out of it. While you are drowning in t5 leather,silk and other useless mats in the same catogorie. Same thing in level 80 maps killing mobs. t5 mats.

Good for making a rare etc but is a lvl 325 crafting mat so you can count it as a lvl 70-80 drop.

With the eye on the new gear, it would be nice to increase the mat rate for it too. So that things get in ballance again.

Increase your MF and there will be more t6 mats drops for you. You can also take those t5 mats and use the mystic forge to make t6 mats out of them.

The problem with increasing drop rates is that it affects the entire population. You might have poor luck but if you look at the whole picture you would see drop rates are fairly reasonable.

Hmm that’s odd. I normally don’t WvW but a couple weeks back I played for 4-5 hours on a weekend running with a zerg. I got ~4-6 exotics, maybe half a dozen rares, and more t6 mats than I get in a week or two of my normal pve world boss playing.

Even just fighting world bosses, I usually get an exotic drop every 2-5 days. I mean I’m usually okay with getting more of something, but you only need that many t6 mats for a legendary.

Wait….you are complaining that Exotics aren’t special enough (or “desirable”) since Ascended came out, but you want to increase the drop rate and make them even MORE common (and LESS desired)?

It sounds like you just want more for less effort (or are you attempting to demote Exotics to become the “new Rare”?).

so you want more exotics? how will that help your feeling that exotics are worthless?
more exotics = lower exotic prices = more superior sigils/runes = lower sigil/rune prices = more inscriptions = lower inscription prices
more exotics just makes them worthless. They should /lower/ the drop rate.
I’m always disappointed when I find an exotic. Sure, more coin than rare, but it’s like getting your hopes up. You think it’s such a rare thing to happen that you’ll make bank on it, but then it turns out it’s only worth 1.5g.
except for rare exotics. those are awesome. and you never know how awesome until after you were disappointed by it when you first found it. Like when I found Belladonna in TA Assault. That was an awesome day. My guild’s reaction totally exemplifies what I’m getting at:

This might be true, isn’t that it does not count what you get from the bags. t5 transmuting to t6 in the mf is just not worth it. 50 t5 + 5 crys dust +1 t6 mat and sp = a average of 6-7 after 10 try’s

I don’t say exotics are rare, but with upscaling new kind of armor you get the feeling it becomes a lower tier. Ofc there are exotics worth a lot, keep them at the same droprate (pre’s etc)
T6 droprate is just low consider it is a lvl 400 craft item and usable for 80 lvl items. While t5 is 300-325 and used for lvl 70 till 80 what realy isn’t that is usefull only to make rares for the toilet or globs (t6 in the end)

Loot is totally broken in this game. Some players have a fair decent drop rate, others, like me, don’t drop anything. I nearly never get exotics, whatever activity i’m doing (farming events like Scarlet, farming high level zones, farming low level zones, farming champions, killing a lot of foes in WvW, and so on).

I think the main problem is that exotics are worthless compared to how many you get. There just aren’t enough uses for them. you get an exotic; 80% of the time none of your characters can even use it. of that remaining 20%, there is a 80% chance you don’t want to use it and a 15% chance you already have an equivalent item. so 1% chance you’ll actually use it. the other 99% of the time you dispose of it, either to the TP or through salvaging or MF. They just need more uses. more recipes in the MF, more things they salvage into, etc. ectos are a good thing they can give. They do give a bit more than rares, but if you just looked at their scarcity compared to rares, you’d expect them to give 10 times as many ectos.
