This might kitten everyone off but…ive had my bifrost for almost 2 months now, and I’m working on incinerator now.

I’ve got all the gifts except for gift of fortune and the lodestone gift. I obtained spark on the first exotic forge attempt…guess I’m just super lucky. Clovers r done so I guess alls I need is t6 mats icy runestones and lodestones. Not in a big rush for this 1 though.

Honestly now that I own a legy it seems to be a bigger deal than i thought. Spvp is so much better!! Considering ditching the 2nd legy.

I’ll give this a stab since I guess I’m working on one kinda.

1. Which legendary are you going for?
Minstrel, apparently.
2. Do you have any gifts? If so, which one?
Yep. 4x Gifts of Exploration & Gift of the Nobleman. The Bard was a chance happening, so I guess you can chalk that up to a gift.
3. Which gift are you working on? And how far have you come on it?
Whatever’s on the list for Minstrel. I’m just collecting parts of everything & banking them, one at a time.
4. Addition information you want us to know, maybe a picture.
I’m going slow & steady because it looks like garbage and is inferior to my amazing Goblet of Kings. Not like any of the other Legendaries are better (excluding Flameseeker, but Mesmers cant Shield so sucks for me); I’m just after that character screen medal.

I’m going for Dusk now, trying my luck with the mystic forge. So far 20 rares and 4 exos, and I got an Ebonblade.
For the Gift of Fortune I need some ectos and T6 materiales for the Gift of Magic. As per my tracker, I completed 71.58% of the gift
For the Gift of Twilight I need 96 Icy Runestones. I leave this one for the end.
4. Addition information you want us to know, maybe a picture.

Working on the universal gifts atm, if I get dawn or dusk, then I’ll pursue either weapon specific gift.

1. Gift of Master – done
2. Gift of Fortune – 71 clovers, about 1/5 of each of the Might/Magic gift materials

3.I’m working on Gift of Fortune, as it is the last thing I need for the Dreamer. I have 77 Mystic Clovers, 87 ectos and 2 out of 8 T6 mats I have 250. The rest T6 mats need about 200 each, except Venoms (got 100) and Vicious Claws (got 190).

So it seems like I’m soon done, but I’m not. I need like 200g more, and I have only 1g.

I hope I can post what I’ve gained now.

Farming CoE every day all paths gets me a bit over 5g+3-7 ectos (tokens to rares). Slowly progressing. Also tomorrow I’ll sell around 70SP which will hopefully give me at least 60g (according to guildies, who have used this tactic).

2. I have the Gift of Mastery, The Gift of the Dreamer, and the precursor, The Lover
3. I’m working on the Gift of Fortune as the final piece of the legendary. The mystic clovers really are a killer T.T the rest of the sub-gifts for the Gift of Fortune are done except for the clovers and the 250 ectos.
4. I’ve been about 3/4ths done for about a month now and I find the hardest part for me is to go out there and gain karma. Karma trains get boring after maybe 2 runs, and I’m usually not on during WvW peak times to really do events there. But I know I will get there eventually.

since zap went up an extra 200g at 10am pst yesterday, i’ll be farming an extra 10-12 days to make up the 200g for the final price tag which will hover around 500g.

when i went to bed, there were 7 zaps with the lowest listing at 325g. i received a text from a guildie in the morning that said zaps were now 500g with 1 left on the tp.

as of now, there are 3 zaps up at 499~500. good luck to those chasing bolt.

1) Kraitkin or Kamohoali (only because the other precs are so absurdly expensive now)
2) I think I only got the badge of honor one done lol oh and 2 more exploration gifts.
3) Will probably take a while as I’ve just recently liquidated my bank for my 4th legend and also only login for just casual wvw and daily dungeons these days..

Waiting until they implement a way to attain a precursor that is more inline with the rest of the steps taken to gain a legendary that isn’t blind luck or taking advantage of an exploit early in the game’s life.

I’m going for Twilight, I have everything except the precursor, I just spent close to 100g just now in an attempt to craft Dusk, still nothing. I’m pretty much just going to be taking this really slowly from now on, its kind of frustrating being so close yet so far and the only method of obtaining it is a trip to the slot machines.

I think what frustrates me more is not the RNG but more the only other alternatives are.

1) Save up 650g+
2) Go back in time and exploit with god skull weapons.
3) Buy a ton of gems and buy it outright on the TP
4) Be lucky.

All of which are not going to happen for various reasons. Either way I’m not giving up, I’m just going to be taking it really really slowly.

I’m working on Twilight (Original, I know) I’ve got 3 gifts done, (Darkness, magic, and might). I wanted to get the gifts full of mats done first, since I imagine they’ll jump in price when ascended comes out… lol
Bloodstone shard done, gifts of exploration, and a few mystic clovers. Plus a good few mats and karma for more obsidian shards. =)

I’m just waiting for new legendaries to arrive atm. Made Gift of Mastery about 4 months ago, after that I’ve been slowly making Gift of Fortune which is about half way done now and I crafted Gift of Metal because most likely the new legendaries are going to need one anyways.

I dont like the mechanics of getting a legendary after getting one.
I had to think real hard.

i would like to say 85% of the mats i required i had to play Trade Post Wars, trying to uppercut the highest buy offer to keep the cost of mats low.
And it seems we have some mean and nasty sharks on the TP, or automated bots which instantly outbid you 24 hours a day… and no im not kidding.

I feel sorry for those of u guys still working on it.
I will quote what a previous legendary owner told me.
Each day that goes by, if ur after something like dusk or dawn, the price on just the precursor will go up, so waiting can hurt you.
Each day that goes by, lodestone prices will jump up.
Each day that goes by, T6 mats go up.

Each day that goes by, means ur gonna end up spending an additional 5% on the overall price tag.

My twilight costed me roughtly 790g to make two weeks ago.
My friends twilight who got it back in december costed him 215g.

Get your legendary fast… or dont get them at all til they drop in price.

After that experience i am not going for another legendary…. If i do, it will probably be something which isnt in high demand, or whatever precursor happens to fall into my lap.

Anyhow enjoy your grind… one which you will quickly realize its not actual game play but trade post camping.

To me each legendary owner means only 2 things.
1. You bought it.
2. You learned to milk the trade post.

There is no other way to get a legendary. I am in the #2 group as well as 90% of all the other legendary owners.

Why walk a step backwards and get eternity?

Get Sunrise sure, but keep it as is, will be more epic than broken eternity, that the only way people will know it’s Eternity is by pinging it to pronounce “Look everyone! I got Eternity!!!!”

I don’t have very much… 15 clovers, a few dozen t6 materials and unidentified dyes, and about 100 marks of battle, but I’m in no rush. I’m content to go at my own pace.

i’m going to work on getting zap first since the 100g for the runestones will never change, but the zap market(luckily) is sitting at 420g, down from the 500g earlier last week. made about 130g last week(5/7 days played), so by my estimation, another 10 days and i’ll be able to put up a buy order of 375-385g and start on my first batch of runestones.

i do have my senior engineering project(60% complete) due next friday, so pending that, i may need to extend my completion time by another week.
