Ended up buying a ‘The Bard’ because it was cheap.

Now staring at the heaps of T6 dust required for the Gift of the Minstrel in mild horror.

Why would you craft a Minstrel?

A. Because I think all the Legendaries are largely lame (or at least inappropriate to the concepts for my existing stable of characters), and I’m after the seal on the log-in page. Plus most ‘cool’ Legendaries are done to death. You can’t swing a dead Charr in Lion’s Arch without cutting off it’s whiskers on somebody’s legendary GS.

B. I’m just barely creative enough to figure out a character concept that could rock a Phoenix-Harp, make the character, and then level them up to 80 in the background as I’m grinding out the mats for the gifts of might and magic.

Due to the fact that im to lazy to farm single T6 mats im gambling for em. So i have atm 110 clovers and no use for the Surplus :P BUT i was lucky and had 38 Dust in one try! Thats alot of Money even if you have to buy Coins for it like i had to do :P

Finished second Inci last thursday. Going for Ponyrainbows now and then Waterweapons and Pistol. Then my thief will be all legendary.

After many months of “casually” working on my legendary and some more effort towards the last few 100s of gold I finally got howler! (Thanks god for skelks/lyssa before the nerf)

Probally not the legendary most people would consider but I am loving it!

Also special thanks to Cheeky Chap from Gunnar Hold, who kindly escorted my level 53 necro to the Temple of Balthazar, when I had 30k karma left for the final craft and it happened to be on that toon.

The last piece I need is Gift of Might and Magic – T6 mats.

Is playing the mystic forge game worth it or should I just suck it up and farm (farm mats / gold)?

I still think they’ll suddenly say, “Oh that precursor treasure hunt. Ye we shelved that months ago”. Quote me!

Me i’m doing Bifrost but as majority of people…..Miss only the precursor :‘( And Mystic forge isn’t my friend because doesn’t give anything.

Any advice because i begin to cry after 5 months of try :’(

About Precursor Gambling:
I made alot of gambling sessions in the last month. Started with Basic MF (5 Pirates and +3 on each Cloth) and had only trash using rare Greatswords. Then i started to rush my MF gear up, got accecoires and used MF Food and 25 Charges on my MF Greatsword. With bonfire or the Booster i had 2XX MF and my results got really good. I had 4 out of 10 Gambles a exotic as result(at one session i had even more exotics!). Not always the expensivest but i got enough Money with it to continue gambling without great loss. After 20 Gold i had Sunrise.
People always tell me that MF has nothing to do with the Forge but these are my results and i had more than 1 session.
Maybe it helps the Gamblers.

If you give up and accept that it’ll never happen, like I did, you will feel much better.

After spending all of my gold to finish the T6 mats, I just need 150 more Globs of Ectos… and I only have 54s on me. Allllllmoooooosssttttttttttt.

I bought howl during the karka event with all the money I had at the time (a wopping 12g). My warrior’s look will finaly be complete with this legendary, can’t wait to be able to just play WvW instead of wanting to farm cof p1 for gold :p

You noticed a placebo effect. Nothing more. As you pointed out, people say magic find does not affect the forge…. because it doesn’t. After God knows how many thousands of rares and 4 precursors I’ve come to know this: as crazy as precursor drops may be, the exotic return rate of 20% is incredibly consistent. I’ve forged 150 rares and gotten nothing but rares back. I’ve had stretches where every other forge returned an exo. It may take time, but it always balances itself out.

i’ve a lot of leftovers of other stuff from crafting before… though i DID spend an ungodly amount of Karma and badges of honor for weapons skins, armor stats, acended jewelry, etc.. lol but these shoudn’t be a problem to pick it back up. have over one third of the clovers done.. T6 mats rolling in while i’m doing those..

so the main thing left is SKILLPOINTS! for more clover crafting and the bloodstone shard. debating doing it all on one character, or using my alts to map complete for “easy” skillpoints.

i always figured WvW to be the best place for karma.. if not, do people still run Orr events? doesn’t seem so..

then, might i suggest dungeon runs? do the easy ones.. but then you’d still be farming lol. just make sure you have full karma boosts (i think up to 90% now at least??) when you use your consumables.

And no i don’t give up, i continue my staff, finish to catch what miss and after we will see, if a quest come to have a precursor (we have news about this?)

WvW is the best for karma once you get into a karma train and you are on a quite dominant server. Once the map is taken join the karma train o another BL.

Also fast and easy dungeons + daily achievements get you there fast. 60k karma is 2 day max. Go for it! The first thing i got for my legendary was the karma.

I’m close now. I have three things left on my shopping list: 78 Molten Lodestones, 100 Icy Runestones, and my precursor.

Nr. 5 is almost finished. Once you have gold from trading, it is all map completion, skillpoints and karma. Nothing more. No grind, no gambling just WvW all the time for ingame fun and some open world because Tyria is a beauty.
Ppl overestimate the goldfactor as usually they tend to avoid the TP. On the journey for a legendary, the TP is your biggest friend.

Can tell you. It took my 10 months to get my Bolt without the TP.
Next time i will take a chance on it.

I got the Gift of Mastery, Gift of Fortune and Gift of Twilight. Dusk is waiting at my guilds bank for me. I just have to wait until 3 more Precursors are in there cause we farm them all together (a more fun way than grinding on our own).

congratulations!! that is a gorgeous weapon. after my Juggernaut, i didn’t think i’d want another legendary again. though now, after months of regular playing no specific farming, i’m quite close so i started working towards Rodgort now. and it doesn’t feel like such a grind as the first time. slowly working towards it and it’s allowing me to participate in more aspects of the game again! which is a nice breath of fresh air.

had some decent luck with clovers last night. at one time got 6 in a row
overall, i’m at about a close to 40%+ hit rate! though i think i just jinxed myself now XDDD 18 left to go!

this time, skillpoints is taking the longest though lol, since i spent a lot on other weapons and siege upgrades before my legendary hunt again heh.

Never wanted a Legendary, but I got the precursor off a drop and decided “hey, if I don’t do this I will regret it.”

I only have the [gift of bolt] left to go for my bolt!! Even named my warrior " Chii Dorii " hahahah can’t wait till i gather the charged lodestones and icy runes~~

Welp, after 10 months: 1 gift of mastery.

In any case, I plan on slowly getting the gift of might because I’m trying to balance out between getting a legendary and getting a set of full ascended accessories on all 5 of my lv 80s and raising my last two characters to lv 80. Currently, my thief and ele have full ascended accessories.

Could someone who has crafted the gift of twilight help me? I am nearly done with the gift of metal, which is the last thing remaining for the gift of twilight, but I am not sure which sigil to use. Leeching or blood? On gw2 wiki it says blood and other places it says leeching. And if you look at twilight, it has a superior sigil of leeching. I am really confused.

I was leveling weapon smithing up to 400. When i hit 400 i decided to make 4 exotic pearl daggers and try my luck….actually got spark first try. Then began the whole, might as well make it train.

3. I’m working on Gift of Fortune. Still have a lot of T6 mats to get, but thankfully I already have the 77 clovers. At the same time I’m working on Gift of Incinerator, which all I need for that are the lodestones to make Vial of Liquid Flame.
4. No picture (not in-game atm), but I got my precursor on my 3rd try in the Mystic Forge! I forged 4 of the cheapest lvl 80 rare daggers (Krait something or other, looked like a hook).

Update! Just created my incinerator Hooray MF for giving me spark!

Twilight, and a mighty gift it is! My girlfriend got Dusk from the forge and knew I was all about it. She created a monster, and in 3 weeks, I’ve farmed almost everything. I am down to:
170k karma for obsidian shards. (Clovers hated me… some of you know the feeling..) and 18 skill points. Both are easy! Hard parts done, and soon, I’ll be able to stop ocd’ing and get back to our usual zaniness :P with Twilight!

Have you completed the new scavanger hunt yet? That one grants you 5 skill points when you complete it. Also, fractal is a great way to get them. fractals is great XP aswell as the fractal relics you can BUY skill points from one of the golems
